The Devil Horns Ride Again! A Rockin’ Jan/Feb TR New PTR Link 10/13!

They really need to rework Eric and Ariel’s faces on these next animatronics. Just so weird looking.

Oh my gosh, Ariel's face especially! :scared: Don't look directly into her eyes...she'll suck out your soul. Yikes!

All your PP photos came out great. That poor lady in front of you guys on Mine Train looks terrified! lol

Do you use Kenny The Pirate's character app or do you use something else? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money or just use the daily schedules at each park.

BOG lunch is so yummy!! I could probably eat there every trip.

So glad Jim got his Doritos! Who would have thought they'd be so hard to find??

The Bears hibernate! Big al needs his beauty rest I guess.

I don't think I've ever met Jessie.

Glad you did end up seeing CBJ. I must see it every trip.

It's a small world is always a must as well.

I wish they would've updated the faces a bit more during the Ariel refurb a while back.

Such a bummer that Country Bears were down, but glad they finally woke up!

Great pic with Woody & Jessie!

Glad you got to do some Fantasyland rides that you still wanted to do!

I was definitely sad for a bit thinking I wouldn't get to see my bears and I was really happy when they finally woke up.

Thanks, they were fun to meet.

OMG, totally agree with the faces of Ariel and Price Eric in the end sequence of the Little Mermaid ride....super creepy!

Yes, what is up with that? You would think Disney could do better.

Oh my gosh, Ariel's face especially! :scared: Don't look directly into her eyes...she'll suck out your soul. Yikes!

I think you've got that right!

No idea how Mine Train can be that scary! But it made for a funny picture.

Yes, I use KTP's app. I've found that the daily schedules are pretty vague, like saying Gaston will be out intermittently from 9 am to 5 pm. But the KTP app gives you exact times of his sets. It was definitely worth the money for me.

Me too! As a matter of fact I'm taking Mom there for lunch this fall. She's only been for dinner.

I was pretty surprised at how hard it was to find Doritos at MK.

I guess! I was just so glad they woke up in time for me to see them that day.

Jessie was a new character for me too. I saw Woody with Buzz at HS but not Jessie.

IASW has been a favorite since my very first trip at age 2 1/2.

I think they should have too, Disney usually does so much better than that.

Stuck in Time and The End

There was one more show we needed to get in before our 6:10 pm ADR at The Plaza so we took the back path to Tomorrowland and entered the Carousel of Progress. Well first we checked the line for Dumbo again but it was still super long and I knew we couldn’t get both it and COP in before dinner. Since I wanted to keep Jim happy, COP was the obvious choice.

It would be cutting it close to finish this show before our ADR but since dinner was just around the corner I figured we would be fine. For some reason I have never taken pictures on this ride so I remedied that this time.

When we got done with the 1920s scene, the Carousel didn’t move and a CM came on the intercom and said we would have to re-watch that scene. Uh oh, that was not in the plans.

The main reason Jim loves this show is because he works for GE and there are a lot of GE appliances in the scenes. This next picture was mainly for him.

I found a couple of hidden Mickey’s in the last scene. Sorry the second picture is so blurry.

We exited COP and fast walked to The Plaza. I checked us in 2 minutes before our ADR time. Whew, that was close!

My original plan for this evening was going to be the new Skipper’s Canteen but neither of us found the menu appealing. Even though Jim is a much more adventurous eater than me, it was just way too fancy for either of us. The Plaza was definitely more our style so we ended up there.

We didn’t wait very long before we were lead to our table. It’s a pretty small restaurant, there’s only one other small room besides the main one we were seated in.

We both got burgers. Jim got cheese and onions on his with a side of Broccoli Slaw.

I got mine with just ketchup and a side of fries.

Our burgers were good, much better than my experience in November where I got a stale bun.

Jim was pretty full and didn’t want a lot for dessert so he asked our waiter what the smallest item on the dessert menu was. Our waiter said he could bring him a couple of scoops of ice cream. That actually sounded really good to me so that’s what we both got. Jim got vanilla while I got chocolate.

After dinner, we made our way through The Emporium to pick up some souvenirs. I needed to get a ShellieMay to go with my Duffy.

I also decided to get a pair of Mickey fuzzy dice for my car.

Don’t they look great?

Jim had a Disney Gift Card that his sister gave him for Christmas so he used it to pick up some pins.

We then crossed over to the other side of the street and I checked out the Dooney purses one more time. I ended up deciding not to get one, the pattern I was looking at was just too similar to the one I already had. I just couldn’t justify two expensive purses because I don't always carry one. But I did pick up a Pandora bead.

Next was the Confectionary so I could use up my snack credits on something to take home with me. I had two left and I bought a big chocolate chip cookie and some fudge. I never did get pictures though. Jim didn’t see anything that interested him so he decided to wait till we got back to the resort to convert his last counter service.

Our flight out the next morning was at 9:25 am so you know what that means, a 6:25 am DME time! But I really wanted to see Wishes before we left. Luckily it was at 8 pm that night. We found a place by the flag pole so we could exit quickly. This was our view.

I tried a few pictures once the show started but they were coming out like this.

So I gave up and just enjoyed the show. Jim played games on his phone.

As soon as Wishes was over, we turned and booked it out of the park and to the bus stop. We made it onto the very first bus back to the resort and were soon back in our room. We dropped off our packages and walked over to Old Port Royale so Jim could convert his last counter service to 3 snacks to take home with him. And what incredibly exciting snacks did he purchase? Two bottles of water and a bag of Doritos. I’m sure you are super sad that I didn’t get a picture of those.

We finished packing and headed to bed around 10:30 pm. I called while we were packing and set up a pick up by Bell Services. We were leaving so early that the internal buses would not be running yet and I did not want to lug our suitcases all the way to the Custom House. Our pick up was scheduled for 5:55 am.

My final Fitbit stats for the trip.

And the one pin I traded for that day. I think we were too busy trying to get everything in so I didn’t trade much at all.

I only have two pictures for the last day so let’s finish this out. We were up and getting ready around 4:30 am the next morning. Bell Services was a bit late, they didn’t show up till a little after 6 am. I was nervous because we had to check our bags and be on the DME at 6:25 am. But we made it in plenty of time.

Our flight was uneventful and once we made it back to Atlanta, we drove to Jim’s work and transferred the suitcases to my car. He went on into work and I drove home, stopping to pick up some lunch on the way. I ate, went grocery shopping and then picked up the dogs. Luckily the ladies that brought them out from the back helped me get them all into the car.

Alex was very happy with the new toy.

Oh and I snuck home another souvenir. While we were there I found out that the Shop Disney Parks App was having free shipping (unfortunately the lightsaber Jim bought was not available through the app). I saw something I really wanted to bring home but knew I could never fit it in my suitcase. But once I found out shipping was free on the app, I had it sent. So super-sized Stitch arrived a few days later. Isn’t he cute?

And that is the end! Like I said in my other TR I really appreciate all who read and comment. I will be back around the end of August to start a PTR for my next two trips. So check back here as I will post a link. Hope to see you there!

What now this one is over! What am I going to do now. lol great Trip Report as always!

I'm going to be honest. I don't think I've ever done CoP. I've seen plenty of videos and know the song by heart which makes me feel like I've done it but I haven't.

From what I've heard the biggest thing about the skipper canteen in the names of the food. They have fancy names but the food isn't that fancy because that's part of the theme. Also they just did some tweaks to their menu, changing some names and adding some items.

I've never eaten at the plaza but it looks good. Maybe worth a try in the future.

Love the fuzzy dice!

My mom has maybe 5 dooneys and she just had friends of ours pick her up one while they were at Aulani. I can see why it's hard to justify if you don't always carry one though. That's why my mom has a small wristlet one just to put her phone and keys in.

Wishes is always great and that's a fantastic way to end the night on your last day.

Nice Fitbit steps! My Fitbit took a dive and they won't send me another one since that one was already a replacement. I really like their product but I've now had three faulty ones. I'm taking a break from them for a while.

I'm glad your travel day went smoothly and I love that stitch you had sent home!

WOW! you finished up two reports QUICK!
You were able to get a ton done and so happy you were able to get your bears in there! OH i totally forgot to mention CONGRATS on your galactic hero!!! ONE of these times i am GOING TO GET IT! I need to watch a you tube on it over and over again.. I WILL GET IT! LOL

The plaza looks yummy. Especially the ice cream. they have THE BEST!!

Jim played games on his phone.

:scared1:

I love Jim and Woody sticking out their matching feet...and the devil horns, of course!! I guess Woody didn't get the memo on that!

Totally agree on the terror that is Ariel and Eric...yikes. Just yikes.

You got the best picture of the drunken hippo I've ever seen!!! :)

You watched Wishes....and HE PLAYED GAMES ON HIS PHONE?! It must not be as moving for him as it is for the rest of us! :)

Excellent idea shipping your giant Stitch home. He looks so cuddly!!!! On my very first Disney World trip, I had to have this giant Winnie the Pooh...I literally sat on my suitcase and force-zipped him in. He was incredibly flat when we got home but he fluffed back up nicely :) shipping him would have been a far better idea!

Thanks for another fabulous report! Can't wait for the next one :)

Well, I've been a terrible lurker for a little while now, but since you're at the end I might as well come out of the shadows and let you know I've enjoyed your report. I've gone over to read your other one as well.

Thanks for the read!

I very much enjoyed your TR! Even though your DH isn't a die hard Disney nut, it seems you both had a great time. Thanks for taking the time to share your trip!

Great report. I can't believe Jim went to work the day you left Disney! I would be useless if I did that.

Sad to see another TR come to an end, but glad there will be more to come after a while.

You had a great last day at MK, Cute pics with Woody and Jessie!

Glad you were able to see wishes one last time

:faint: on Jim's last snack credit choices!

I love your Carousel of Progress pics!

Sounds like a nice dinner!

Glad you got to see Wishes on your last night.

Love your super sized Stitch!

Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful trip! Can't wait to read your PTR!

Sorry I've been away so long folks! Things got a little crazy at work for a while but I think it's calmed down enough to get back on the DIS regularly. Of course I'm far behind on everyone's TRs and PTRs but plan to remedy that as soon as possible. I'll also be back here to finish up replies but for now, here's a link to my new PTR for my next two trips. Hope to see you there.
