The Devil Horns Ride Again! A Rockin’ Jan/Feb TR New PTR Link 10/13!

Lovely PP pictures. And those flowers really are gorgeous!

More cute pics with Donald!

I like the necklaces you picked up, pretty colors.

Glad you go to meet Belle! Haha and so funny Jim didn't know who you were meeting when you got in line for Aurora. He really loves character meets!

Love that hockey pin...Cheeky needs one of those, LOL!

Love all the character photos! I do love that pp photo f you and Jim on the bridge, that is so sweet wtih his arms around you!

"Who the heck is this we are meeting?" HAHAHA!

Last time we were in the parks we did a photoshare with a group, so we only had to pay $20 for the disc. This time we have paid full price, so I would be willing to bet that Brian will want us to take advantage of as many PP opportunities that we can, too.

Lovely epcot afternoon!! And you certainly managed to get a lot of characters in without back tracking!! I always end up running back & fourth through world showcase to try and get everyone in!
LOVE the rose regal! It's one of my favorite ws drinks!
Too bad the pp pics didn't turn out, I hate it when they don't come out right!
Great character interactions too!

Love all the character meets!! The line for Mulan has been cut off right in front of me three times!! I am determined to finally meet in her in December. I love Jim's Halestorm shirt, even though he didn't have red to be a warrior :)

Your PP pics are really fabulous this time!! I know you had a few disappointing shadows on this day, but so far there are SO many cute ones of you guys. Awwww

We totally missed it the day before and low and behold there was a Pluto penny!

I'm sure you already know but there's a website for all the pressed pennies in WDW. It includes printable lists with locations & pictures of the designs. The website is presscoins.com.

Jim had never seen the interesting, um, “sculpture” towards the back of the pavilion so I had to show him. For some reason, he didn’t want his picture taken with it.

Hahahahaha!! That's awesome.

Great PP photos!

I have always wanted to see Donald in Mexico but I just never had. I really should've this year with my donald medal.

Froway is coming along.

Nice photos with Mulan.

I have never seen the voices of liberty and I am really disappointed I missed them in January that was one thing I really wanted to do.

I always like photos in France but since it was raining while I was there this year we didn't get any.

Its nice you gt to Pooh and Tigger before hey got cut.

Can't wait to hear about rose and crown I have always wanted to eat there.

Full afternoon! You guys met some great characters too!

It sounds like you had some yummy drinks. Is that wine in Italy? It looks really good!

We peeked in that church in Norway too and it was interesting to look over everything. I didn't put together the deal with poor Sven and the reindeer pelt. Poor guy!

What GREAT PP pictures you got!!! I adore how Jim loves to meet the characters. Even if he doesn't know who Aurora is! HA HA HA!

I see he has a Hailstorm shirt on.. My Little Brother Jason play drums for them from time to time..
He is about to go on tour with another band i cannot say in public.

Thanks, we did get a few good PP pictures that day.

I think I have 7 or 8 of those necklaces now!

I was very happy to finally add Belle to the list of characters I've met.

Yay, Jim is quite obsessed with character meets.

Jim has a shirt with that phrase on it too that he got at Epcot.

We got some good pictures that afternoon although the shadows and bright sun ruined a few.

I think we got lucky with the character meets. Belle was the only one I really planned, we just happened to run into the other ones we did.

I could use a glass of that wine right now!

Thanks! I find getting in line about 10 minutes before the character is set to come out is the best strategy. We had one character meet a few days later where the line was cut off before the character even came out!

We did get some great shots this trip!

Hahahahaha!! That's awesome.

I do know about the web site and I have checked it out but for some reason I love the hunt as much as finding a penny so looking them up feels like cheating to me. Yay, I'm weird.

I have no idea what Disney was thinking letting them add that interesting rock formation in Morocco!

Great PP photos!

I think we have met Mexico Donald at least 7 or 8 times. Since he's Jim's favorite, he's a must do for us when we are there. Bummer you missed him with your medal.

Froway, that's pretty funny. I hadn't heard it called that before.

Definitely add the VOL to your list for next time, they are really good.

I'm bummed with all the character cuts at Epcot and the other parks. I'm glad we got a few of them in this trip.

We did get a lot done that afternoon including a bunch of characters.

Yep, that's a sparkling, sweet red wine from Italy. If you like sweet wines, it is really good!

My mind works in weird ways and I noticed the reindeer pelt right away.

We did get some great pictures that afternoon, definitely got our money's worth.

So cool your brother plays drums for them. They are one of Jim's favorite bands.

Very cool nugget of info regarding the beaded necklaces! Thanks for the tip ;)

You are welcome. I found out about them by reading on the DIS so just passing it along. I have 7 or 8 sets now and love wearing them. It's like I have a little piece of Disney with me even if they don't look the part.

Dinner and a Date With the Past

It was finally time to check in for our Rose and Crown ADR so we backtracked to the UK.

I took a few pictures while we waited to show the crowd levels. It was a really low crowd day as you will see. By this time at night it’s usually wall to wall people in WS.

Our buzzer went off right at our ADR time and we were lead to a table inside. This was the first time I had eaten inside since 2010 but I wasn’t disappointed. It was pretty chilly and I was glad for the warmth.

Jim and I ordered the exact same thing for our appetizers and entries. The main reason we both love Rose and Crown is for the Scotch Egg appetizer. They basically take a hard boiled egg, wrap it in sausage and deep fry it. It’s served with a mustard sauce that I get on the side because I don’t care for it. Jim doesn’t mind though, more sauce for him. I’m not sure why I love this appetizer so much but it is so good!

For our entries we got Fish and Chips.

I have to say that I prefer the Fish and Chips you get at Yorkshire. I think because the fish at Rose and Crown is one big piece, it’s a lot greasier than the smaller pieces from Yorkshire. I still like it, just prefer the other. The fries though are awesome, I love them.

Dessert is the only problem here because there is nothing on the menu that I like. We were pretty stuffed so we ended up ordering our desserts to go so we could eat them later that night in the room. I got the sticky toffee pudding. It doesn’t look so appetizing in the cup they put it in. And I will say that I only ate a bite or two because I really did not like it. But of course that is just me and my pickiness, a lot of people rave about this dessert.

Jim ordered the Banoffee Tart which was Banana, Jameson Irish Whiskey-Carmel, Sweet Cream, and Chocolate. I don’t know if he even tried it so no review on this one.

There were three things I wanted to do after dinner and before leaving Epcot. The first was to visit the Art Store. Before we got there, we ran into another PP photographer in a different spot. Once again she only took three identical photos so I’ll just share one.

We browsed the art store without buying anything and then headed to item two on the agenda, Spaceship Earth.

There was no line at this time of night and we walked right on.

Love these blue lights on the way down.

And it was time for our future. Jim did the selections and I have no idea at this point what he picked. I guess we weren’t in the mood to do silly faces this time.

Last item on the after dinner agenda was to visit Mouse Gears to pick up the items we saw earlier in the day. Jim purchased a pack of Pirates playing cards (he plays a lot of cards with his Mom when she comes to visit) and a Donald key chain.

I bought three items. The first was this Big Al figure. I was a little worried about getting him home in one piece but he made it.

And then I found a new stuffed Pluto and also Stitch posing as Yoda.

The last item we purchased was a Mickey foot squeaky toy for our dogs.

We headed out of the park and walked right on to a bus. We stayed on the bus and got off at Port Royale because Jim needed more bottled water. I really should have ordered a case and I was a little annoyed with him for telling me not too.

I tried a few night pictures of the resort on the way back to the room.

We ended up heading to bed around 10 pm because we had a super (and I mean super!) early day the next morning. Here’s a picture of the three pins I traded for during this day along with the pressed penny from China.

And my Fitbit stats for the day. It sucks having a desk job because I have not hit 10,000 steps since we were at Disney.

I've never had a Scottish Egg but it looks and sounds pretty tasty! Interesting that they serve you one big piece of fish instead of smaller ones.

I love that Big Al figurine you purchased.

I know what you mean about not getting enough steps on a regular basis :(

I've always wanted to eat at Rose and crown specifically to try the fish and chips. We have a ton of fish fry locations here in the Milwaukee area.

I'm very jealous of the Big Al figure I didn't see him oh well hopefully they still have him next time.

I usually hit 10,000 steps when I'm at school with gym classes and walking in between classes. I think at Disney I averaged closer to 20,000.

0 calories eaten at Disney...now THAT'S will-power!! ;-)

You were spotting PP photographers everywhere!!! Definitely seems like you got your money's worth this trip.

Love the fish and chips and Rose and Crown--I've never had that app but I know you always rave about it. I saw them on a menu at Sprecher's (a Wisconsin chain restaurant) and almost ordered it, but I chickened out. If I ever try it, you bet I'll be trying the one in WDW!

I love rose & crown, although i dont know if I've ever had the scotch egg or f&c inside there! Lol. Glad you enjoy it though. Looks like a rather lovely evening

No, not weird at all! Normally we're like that too but because there are so many at WDW, I like having the list.

Mmmm, Scottish eggs. The fish & chips look good too. I've heard a lot of people say that they're better at Yorkshire.

Jim dessert looks so good. That was one of my favorite things at F&W back in 2013. Sorry you didn't like your dessert. I think that's one of the reason we took Rose & Crown off our list for this trip. DH didn't really find anything he liked either.

Oh, I have my eye on that Donald Duck key chain and Stitch/Yoda!

Fun day. Have you made scotch eggs at home? I have tried a few times ( baked them instead of fried,) so yummy, but not as pretty looking as rose and crown's.

Mmmmmm...I should know better than to check the Disboards right before lunch! That food from R&C looks so good!!!! I really do want to try Yorkshire sometime. Maybe I can when I go in July... October will not be an option since we plan to do F&W on our Epcot day.

Can you help answer a few questions about getting an AP? How does is work to have a family room and ticket package when one family member has an AP and does not need the tickets? I am considering getting an AP while I am there in July. Won't this save us on our October trip? What is the cost breakdown? Will the price of my four day tickets in July be discounted from the cost of the AP?
