Thanks, CBF! I took it from the MK boat in the canal that connects Bay Lake to Seven Seas Lagoon.

I was thinking that the brown rusty metal looked like it was in the canal. We have used that canal many times while driving the water mouse. This trip our DS16 will be able to drive one himself. Don't know how that will go over as he's had his permit since January and still doesn't want to drive.:confused3 Oh well when he's ready he will drive.

Don't tell your DS, but you only have to be 12 and 5' tall to drive one all by yourself. When DD was under 12 (I believe 10 and 11?), she was permitted to drive, but only with an adult present.

It's one of DD13's favorite activities now that she can drive one alone. I think your DS will love it!

He has driven one with my DH but never by himself. I don't think he is as confident with driving them as he is in the rest of his life. I told him that it's easy. If not than I will let him drive me around for a change.:rotfl:

Sounds like you need a vacation;)

Haha, more than you know!! I was informed today that when he turns 7 he just wants his name changed to Super. That way his first name will be Super and his last name will be Vinson!

Ok this cracked me up. Your DS sounds like such a character. Good for him. You should get him a tee shirt with SV on it.:thumbsup2:rotfl:

He is a character. I always joke that he is "my special little boy". He is wonderful and fun, but a little querky! For those who watch Big Bang Theory, Sheldon is my son. I have recieved several random comments from people saying they were watching the show and Sheldon reminded them of my Jackson., he's perfect to me!

Our last club level stay at the Poly we were met at the entrance by the Castmenbers and taken directly to the Club Level for check-in.

Is it the same at CR? Do I pull my car up to the main entrance?
Thanks.

I don't watch the Big Bang Theory but I do think Jim Parsons is funny as he// and yes he is quirky too. Quirky is a good thing. Our friends DS is named Jackson as well.

I sometimes call Sheldon my pet. A little nutty, but that is endearing to me!
Check out my ticker!!!

After you go past the guard, pull-up to the entrance and tell them you're staying CL. Hopefully, the guard will have let them know you have arrived and they will send a CL runner to escort you up, but this doesn't always happen at the CR. If it doesn't, just tell them you want to check-in on the 12th floor (or 14th if you're staying in the Tower Club level).

I've got a couple of questions.

1. On other resort threads (can't remember which since I change so frequently :lmao:) people have made note of the selections for room requests while doing online check in. I may have missed it in the first few posts but has anyone seen a Contemporary room request list? I heard it was like a check box system, rather than a comments section. Thanks!!

2. Has anyone ordered the chocolate monorail? I was thinking about getting on arrival night for the kids but we ended up getting a ressie for the Dessert party. So it may not be worth it.

Thanks!!!

Interesting article! Thanks for posting. I'm sure some people will be paranoid and not like this at first. I think me included. :) but it's good they tested it on the cruises first. I'm also glad they chose the CR as the first to retrofit. They should have the Contemporary get any technological advance first.

This type of door is so handy. GWLodge has them in the bracelet form and it was so handy! I get so tired of those slide the key cards in, pray and hope they work and you get the green light...I hope they have this when we get there at the end of the month!!

Is it normal to get to June & not be able to book into February of next year?
When does the Contemporary usually open its rooms for the upcoming year?

I have to confess the waiting is driving me a little crazy. Only 9 months out I fee like we should at a minimum have the room booked.

We are staying at CR in Oct. Does the daybed fold out flat?
Yes!
From the pics on this website (and others) it looks like it folds down into a small twin-like sized bed. We are staying at the CR in October also, so I've been looking at tons of pics!

That link isn't working so here's the one I think you were trying to post:

You're welcome. Yeah, it's a bit creepy and big brother-ish knowing that "they" can re-key your room remotely. For example, if your room key isn't working because they keyed it to the wrong room number (which has happened to us at the CR) they can re-key it remotely (after you call the "call center" who relays your message to the front desk?)

It will be interesting to read about the RFID successes and failures that start emerging after the conversion. Eventually, WDW will be implementing RFID tech. in the parks. Most recently, they ran a trial with some DME guests who were chosen to use RFID cards as Fast Passes.

You should be able to call and book, but the 2013 rates won't be set until around August, I believe. You can book at the Christmas Week rate and it will revert to the 2013 rate around August. The online system can only book up to December 31, 2012. Just give 407-W-DISNEY or your TA a call.
