Tell me your favorite Disney moment...

My all-time favorite magical memory (and why a WDW vacation is so unique)...

When we went in '08 our boys were 11, 8 and 6. I had made up matching red t-shirts for the whole family with The Incredibles characters on them. DH had Mr. Incredible, I had Mrs. I, and the two younger boys had Dash on theirs. Now, DS11 wasn't going to be exactly like everyone else, so he opted to have Syndrome (the bad guy!) on his shirt.

We finally had our highly-anticipated meet with "our" family at the Magic of Disney Animation at the Studios (they made SUCH a fuss over their likenesses on our shirts!!). Shortly after that, Frozone took their place so we got back in line for a photo-op with him.....

Well, he took one look at DS11's shirt and, with the wildest gestures you can imagine, made it VERY clear he was NOT happy about that picture!!....He then proceeded over to the autograph podium, tore the Incredibles "i" symbol off its Velcro attachment, thrust it into DS11's hands and made him cover up the picture of his nemesis!!! :lmao::rotfl: I was dying with laughter while all this was going, the boys got a huge kick out of it, and it is a memory we will remember forever.

:cloud9:

DH (who was my DBF of only 8 months) surprised me with a 1 day excursion to MK while we were visiting Tampa. We both stopped to smoke a cigarette next to the castle (we have since quit the nasty habit, no worries!) and silently made wishes while tossing coins in the water. Later, when walking through the parking lot to go home we revealed what we had wished for: to be standing in that exact same spot 20 years later. Turns out we had wished the EXACT same thing, with exactly the same time frame, at exactly the same time!!!! I was so stunned I sat down in the middle of the parking lot because my knees had become that weak. 4 1/2 years later we were married at the Wedding Pavilion.

We have a date to be at Cinderella Castle March 2, 2025.

Aug 2009 we where in EPCOT we had fastpasses for Test Track but it had been down for a while so the line for fastpass was soooo long. My 6 year old daughter was so excited to ride, but my husband doesn't like fast rides like that so he couldn't ride it with her. My 6 week old breast fed daughter couldn't be apart from me that long. I was explaining to my 6 year old we would have to ride it next trip when all the sudden out of the blue a cast member said to follow her. She took my daughter and I and gave us a behind the scenes tour of test track, showed us the control room and everything. We went strait on the ride, and she had the best time. She was beyond excited, and im sure she will never forget that moment. Apparently someone who was sitting next to us while I was talking to DD had went and told a test track CM about our situation.

This is from my Mother Daughter trip on Magic with my youngest who was just shy of her 18th bday.

We are headed to Disneyland in June. We will have the whole family. That includes my husband, oldest DD, her fiance', and her DS, youngest DD, her firance' and her DD. Can't wait. The oldest DD fiance had never been and my DGD is only 1 and it will be her first trip. I have her so into Disney it's not even funny. Gosh I love her!! She's in my aviator.

I was in link to meet Mary Poppins with my youngest. DH had our oldest - both boys are non-verbal austic - so they have were walking around the the back of England at Epcot when Tigger came around the corner - Tigger & oldest DS(15) ran into each other both step back then step forward & hugged each other. Dh said he didn't know that oldest could smile that big. then Pooh & the handler came out the door so he hug Pooh too.

Here are just 2 of my favorites:

We were at the end of our very first night watching wishes. My children each had a look on their face that perfectly reflected their personalities while they took in the magic. One smiling, one seriously taking it all in, and one in total awe. Magical.

Finally, as we were leaving Disney, Driving under the sign, I heard older DD daughter (4 at the time) say in her saddest voice, "Bye Disney World." I turned around just in time to see a tear rolling down her face. That moment encompasses how I feel when I have to leave. It made we want to turn around and stay another week (not that it'd take much).

My favorite moment happened on my oldest daughter's 5th birthday. This was her very first trip to WDW and she was very excited to meet Ariel (her all time favorite). She had her BBB appointment first thing that morning, and as soon as Toontown opened up we headed to get in line. They had just closed Ariel's Grotto, which we were bummed about. We got in line to meet the princesses and when it was our turn, we noticed there were only two, not three, for the meet and greet. It was Cinderella and Belle, which she likes, but there was no Ariel :( We were kinda bummed, but knew she'd have other opportunities to meet Ariel later in our trip. She met Cinderella first, then moved over to meet Belle. As we were finishing up with Belle, the door opened and in walked a third princess, ARIEL! It was so magical, and like it was meant to be just for her. If we would have been one person ahead in line, we would have missed her.

the first time we had a moment was our first trip in aug/sept 2001. It was sooo hot and miserable that we had a hard time spending full days at the park. The kids were 1.5, 4 and 7. our DS wanted to ride the speedway cars but the line was So long and we were on our way out of the park for the day. The girls were cranky and everyone needed down time. A CM comes out of no where as my son is having a melt down and asked for us to follow him. We got to the front of the line and made my DS so happy. <3

The last time we were they kids were 12, 9, 7 and 2. The 2 yo didn't know what to think of the characters and was pretty stand off ish. We didn't push but just let her be. We were waiting for illuminations to start (2nd day of the trip) and noticed the toy store in England so we ducked in just to check it out. We noticed the empty room at the back no one where there , Gabby had gotten out of her stroller to walk a bit and wondered into the room without me knowing. I turn around and Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore walked into the room. She stood there and looked at them and walked up and gave them hugs and loves. They spent probably 5 min with her, there was no one else around. It was magic <3 From that moment on she loved everything about disney and the characters. I told dh that was our defining moment trip by far and what made the trip for HER. Seeing the magic in the baby's eyes made that trip special for US.

This thread has me in tears! My favorite Disney moment happened during a mother daughter trip when my girls were 11 & 3. They had gone to the BBB the day before and still had their hair in buns. We had an early morning ADR in the MK and both girls had insisted on wearing their sashes and tiaras again. As we were about to have our bags checked on the way into the park, the cm smiled at us and then very solemnly said "Welcome back to your kingdom, princesses." After he finished checking our bags and we started to walk away, Dd11 turned to me with tears in her eyes and said "Mom, did you hear what he said? Welcome back to *your* kingdom." It made my girls positively glow with happiness for hours.

My favorite moment has to be when my husband comes to me after being in the Animation Institute and told me our son had gotten golden time with the head cheese himself...I was standing in line for Handy Manny, DS was 6 and was looking forward to meeting him but didn't want to wait in line for 30 minutes (there were already probably 10 in front of me, and about 15 behind me) so dad took him walking, just to see who was in the building he said...20 minutes later he comes back and shows me the wonderful pictures of DS and Mickey playing on the floor...DH said Mickey was the only one in there and was just pacing, waiting for a friend to visit....Thank you Mickey....you are the best.

I love all of the memories I have read, and I thank all of you for sharing them with me. I quoted some that made me cry a little.

I am so happy that I started this thread, and even more happy that someone resurrected it after I forgot about it again. We are about just over 4 months out from our real date that we are going back to WDW. The kids think we are going roughly around when my ticker says. I am so excited to make new memories, but I will be honest...After waiting since May of 2011, it is creeping up on me fast, and it is freaking me out. I always pack about two months out b/c I pack for so many people and because I am the planner and executor of every project and every detail. That puts me at just over 2 months till I start packing! Yikes!!! It almost breaks my heart that we are going. I don't know if you get that, but I am guessing you all probably do. Once you plan a trip and the day finally arrives to head to Disney, you also feel a little sad knowing that in a couple days you will have to go home again and start the process over.

Thank you all for making me feel your memories.

My special memory is of our trip in Oct 2010. DD, then 6, was scared of almost all the characters but wanted a full autograph book like her brothers. her brothers were 9 and 13 and were so good and would go and see all the characters and take her book with them, they would even go and see the princesses for her ;)

Anyway they were queuing to see the Ugly Sisters and Cinderellas step mother. The 2 boys go up for the autographs and dd stays back and watches from behind me. Anyway one of the ugly sisters decided that she loved my 13 yr old ds. He was 6ft tall and at an awkward age for any female attention :lmao:. Anyway the ugly sister decided that she would marry my ds and kept her arm linked through his and was talking constantly about their forthcoming wedding and how she would need a ring etc. The Step Mother noticed that they had an extra autograph book and wondered who it was for. My oldest ds explained how is sister was shy and afraid so he was getting the autograph for her. With that the Ugly sister starting shouting very loudly to my DD, " come over and see us, we're going to be sisters and you can be our bridesmaid at the wedding". DS was mortified and was very red but dd totally relaxed and ran over and hugged them all.

It was dd's 4th visit to WDW and that one moment was the first time she ever went and got her own autograph and hugged them.

The characters were just amazing and luckily we managed to tape it all happening.

Aw man! I want her to do that to my 15 year old son! Minnie gave him his first kiss last year, and he wasn't having it. I would love that!!!

My all time favorite disney moment was in feb 2008 it was my dd11 who was 7 at the time, my mom, and myself we were there for a cheer comp but one of nights during our trip we were going to the Pirate and Princess Party and we had a dinner seating at 1900. We were one of the first arrive and my dd was dressed in her cinderella wedding dress and we had just come from BBB and she was chosen at check in to open the dining room. When she opened the dining room Cinderella and Prince Charming were there to greet her and escort her to our table. It was a really great moment w/ a little disappointment by a couple of people who felt the need to jump in front of me while I was videoing and run towards Cinderella and Prince Charming of course since the cut me off I didn't get to video the part where prince charming danced with my dd and pulled out her chair for her. Over all it is our special moment in Disney that she will never forget.
