Tell me all about the Aulani spa!

I've decided to book a spa treatment when we go to Aulani in May. I am interested in either a message or a body treatment, (which seems to include a message). What was your favorite? When can I use the Hydrotherapy Garden? Only on the day of the message or for anytime during the trip?

After beach walks, hiking, ATV riding, and zip lining all over Oahu and Maui I am thinking I am really going to need this.

We've done the spa at Aulani several times. It's a wonderful, but expensive, experience. We typically get the Lomi Lomi (may not be the correct name) massage.

Let me say that the actual treatment is only a part of the total experience. To start with, you are welcomed to the spa and asked to pick a rock out of a basket. That rock will have a word on the back. Typically something like "serenity" or "peaceful" which is what you are supposed to focus on during your entire visit. You are then taken down a "tunnel" with water trickling down the sides to a small pool of water where you toss your stone.

From there you are escorted to the changing area which has lockers and robes. Once changed you can go to the Hydrotherapy Garden and enjoy all the features there until time for your treatment. There may be some limit as to how soon before your treatment you can arrive, but I don't recall that. However, you can only use the garden before your visit. They do not offer any access to the spa on other days.

We were allowed to use the hydrotherapy garden for one hour before our spa appointments. I recommend arriving like 15-20 minutes before that that to absolutely maximize your time out there. It's lovely! Also make sure you don't have anything scheduled right after your appointment either. It's nice to take your time getting ready and use all the amenities.

Favorite spa in the whole world! You're only supposed to show up an hour before but you can stay as long as you like after (at least I've never been chased out)... And stay. Great treatments and its definitely an experience instead of a treatment. It's not cheap but not insanely out of line either.

I got a facial and it was amazing. I had a 10am appt and they said to arrive at 9 to enjoy amenities. Was able to continue using amenities after my treatment.

They hydro showers were the best!! The hot tubs were out of order when I was there :/

Great tea and snack options too!

I love facials! I get them here at home all the time. I'm thinking after 10 days in Oahu and Maui my body may need a massage. I can't decide between just a massage, or a body treatment that includes a massage. Is there a difference? If I decide to go with a body treatment, is the massage not as long?

Can we use all of the spa facilities if I just book and pedicure and my husband gets a shave? He’s not a fan of massages.

No, it needs to be an actual spa service like a massage or facial.
