now to choose from. Can any one recommend a name brand that DID actually whiten teeth?

thanks much! ok to dm me if you want.:surfweb:

I had whitening trays made at my dental office and bought "nite white" through them. I now touch up once a year using the nite white which I can order right online much cheaper. I would suggest looking at that brand. It works very well. I believe there may also be kits out there to make your own trays.

Some of the over the counters are right up there with the dental office at home whitening. At our office we use Opalescense and it is $99 for the trays and 4 tubes of 35% solution (which is a lot higher than OTC). We sell refill tubes for less. Check w/your dentist and you may be able to get it there, it does work.

if i can get a namebrand someone on here likes from rite aid or walmart or walgreens.

i'm not any where near due to hit dentist.

thankssssss

Rembrant products work
Crest Whitestrips work well but some (like me) have issues with tooth sensitivity when using it
I recently read an article that said there was an Arm & Hammer whitener and enamel strengthener that works but I have no experience with it

I've heard that Crest works for some, I have used it to "boost" my teeth when I want them a little whiter.

yes, Tres White, $100 thru your dentist or about $40 off ebay. Length of trays until optimal whitening depends on how porous your teeth are.

Then just touch up once a month to maintain.

I've used them for seven years!

i tried the crest 3D whitestrips back in october...after wearing them for less than 5 minutes, i started having sharp pains in my teeth, but dummy that i am, i persevered and wore them the entire 30 minutes-my teeth hurt for WEEKS after using them, and they're still WAY more sensitive than they were before using the strips. if i live to be 100, i'll never use anything like that again!

Wow, sorry to hear you had so much trouble with this! I was planning to buy some of these soon, but I think I'll skip it now...DH already has sensitive teeth. Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

I used the Rembrandt Whitening Mouthwash which worked really well but was really hard to find. I finally found it at Walgreens for about $8. I also used Listerine strips. I have pretty sensitive teeth and they didn't bother me at all. The other nice thing about them is that they aren't as expensive as some of the strips plus they dissolve in your mouth so you can talk normally while wearing them and there isn't anything to remove. I can see a measurable difference in my teeth.

worked so well since you used both?

do i have to buy both? BUDGET HEre. LOL
:rotfl:

Believe me, I understand budgets! I honestly don't know if both together worked better, I'd guess so though. I found a $3 coupon for the Rembrandt mouthwash plus I had some sort of 'bonus' money from Walgreens so between the two I only had to pay something like 50cents for the mouthwash. I paid full price for the Listerine strips but I'm sure they go on sale periodically. I'd check their web site or some others for coupons. I think they were around $20 which is high but much better than $45 or what some of the other ones cost.

I had this EXACT same problem. it's still super sensitive on one of my back teeth. And my dentist first thought I had a crack in my tooth, sent me to the root canal specialist who (after much probing and looking around) figured out that I made that tooth more sensitive from the Crest White Strips. He said he tells everyone do not use them. So never again with them !!

How do you find them on ebay? I searched "tres white" and got nothing??? Where did you get your trays?

Also what does "legth of trays until" mean.... I'm guessing use the stuff until you get your desired whiteness and then touch up once a month.

I work in a dental office and we use the crest whitestrips all the time. It is our best selling whitener in our office and people love the cost. It is 4x stronger then you can buy over the counter.
As far as sensitivity goes...some people will get sens teeth to bleaching but doesn't matter what brand they use. I have people with already sens teeth that are fine when bleaching and vice versa. We always rec'd using a sens toothpaste for weeks before bleaching and during. If you have sens it goes away when you are done bleaching.
The over-the-counter brands tend to be to good to be true. The mouthwash is going to do nothing to actually bleach your teeth. It needs to sit on your teeth for a period of time. Just like whitening tooth pastes will not bleach your teeth. It removes stain and makes them appear whiter.

Sorry, there is no space. Treswhite.

When I first used the Treswhite bleaching trays, it took a whole set of 10 trays to get my teeth white, but my husband only needed 5 trays to whiten his.

My teeth are very hard, not very porous.

My husband's teeth must be more porous to allow the bleach in to do its magic quicker.

By the way, the mint trays are good. They also sell mleon flavored ones from time to time.

The melon trays taste awful!

I just pop one in while watching television and leave it in for about 60 minutes (long time, but my teeth are HARD)/

A dentist I used to go to sold the same trays out of his office for $100.

So I googled!

You can also get them at other websites, like Amazon.com!

About two years ago, I read an article about teeth whitening and what some models did if they needed a quick whitening....you ready for it?

Scrub your teeth with a strawberry! I take a strawberry and rub gently all along my front top and bottom (exactly where you would put the strips on). Yes, they will look red. Then brush gently! This works so well, that I even told my dentist about it.

The result? He has done it, loved it so much, and tells his patients about it.

But shhhhhh....it'll be our little secret!:goodvibes

I use them all the time and think they work great. And they are easy to use.
