Tony, (DH – Tony64) age 44 - in charge of driving, collecting coffee and doughnuts for breakfast, running to get fast passes and generally stressing. This is his ninth trip.
Theresa (me), age 43 - in charge of the credit cards and plotting quickest routes to the shopping malls. This is my tenth trip.
Maddie (DD), age 19 - jointly in charge of where we eat, shop and play this trip. This is her seventh trip.
Callum (DS) age 18 - in charge of himself. This is his seventh trip.

    Tuesday 2nd September 2008

We all had a lovely lie-in today followed by a leisurely breakfast of coffee, cookies and chocolate brownies. We planned on shopping today, but as we have a small luggage allowance this time, we thought we’d better weigh everything we had bought so far just in case we had already over done it. We were fine -we estimated that we had around 10-15 kg left, so shopping it was!

We started off by popping into the Homes Welcome Center to quickly look up a few things on the internet and check our e-mails as there’s no internet access at Terrace Ridge, unless you have your own laptop, which we didn't. From there, we drove down the 192 and had lunch at Friendly’s.
We all enjoyed what we had here. I had Tuna roll with waffle fries then butterfinger sundae. Maddie had fish and chips then mint crunch sundae. Tony had barbeque chicken then dark chocolate ice-cream with orange sorbet, and Cal had a burger which he said was the best one so far this trip, then hot fudge sundae. The bill was just $56 before tip, which we thought was excellent value.

After friendly’s, Maddie and I spent a happy half-hour in Mouse Memories, a scrapbooking shop that specialises in Disney craft products. We bought plenty, of course and were then joined by Tony and Cal who had gone off to explore a couple of pawn shops, looking for guitars and other music things.

We decided we had enough time to go to another craft shop, A C Moore’s, which we had never been to before. We bought a few things, but I don’t think I would bother to go there again as it’s quite a long way out, and is very similar to Joanns and Michaels which are much nearer.

Callum was desperate to buy his girlfriend a present and Maddie still had money to spend too, so we drove back down the I4 to Mall at Millenia.
Maddie had a great time in Abercrombie and Fitch, which had been re-stocked, buying some lovely hoodies including a gorgeous fleecy one which is £135 here in the UK but only half that in Florida.

    The Mall.

Callum found a pretty necklace in Tiffany’s for his girlfriend and while we were in there, Maddie couldn’t resist buying another small one for herself too.

    The happy shopper.

All that shopping had made us thirsty, so we stopped at Starbucks for coffee (no food though!).

Cal bought another, better, fish-eye camera in Urban Outfitters and promptly sold his old one to Maddie! They've had a great time this trip, taking lots of fun photos.

We headed home, nipping into the excellent Publix near the condo to buy dinner. We chose ribs, pizza, hot mashed potato, texas toast and several delicious desserts including chocolate fudge cake and banana pudding.

Tony made us Pina Coladas to go with it and we scoffed the lot while relaxing on the sofas and (of course) watching “House”!

Theresa, your Millenia photo is the first I've ever seen of the mall's interior. It never crosses my mind to shop off site and looking at your picture I'm reminded why--this shot looks like it could have been taken in any of a half dozen malls in Tulsa, from layout to store fronts. It's a small world after all . . .

So glad to read that Callum wasn't still on his water diet when it came time to order ice cream at Friendly's. I was beginning to worry about the boy.

    Hi Susan
The malls over here can't compare to the ones in the US, so we love being able to look around as many as we can fit in.

Callum tends to have hollow leg days, one day he could eat a horse the next almost nothing.

He eats when he's hungry and stops when he's full. It keeps him slim.:confused3

Great report. Whereabouts was the Urban Outfitters shop in the Mall of Millenia, I just cannot remember seeing it in July unless it took over a shop that was closing down.

My youngest son is the same as Callum, eats when he needs to or not at all if he isn't feeling hungry.

We will definitely have to go in Friendly's, looks like it serves good meals.

Abercrombie and Fitch plus Hollister, my hubbie and sons spent ages in there in July whilst I waited and waited outside. However, as soon as we bought some tracfones I was free to wander on my own which made going to the Malls a whole lot easier.
