Super bowl menu

I'm more interested in the food than the game lol. So what's everyone making for the super bowl?

Lol, I heard on the radio that more food is consumed on Super Bowl Sunday than either Thanksgiving or Christmas. I had a hard time believing it, but my DH agreed. Perhaps that's my cue that I make too much food. :goodvibes

We are having:
Black eye pea salsa/pita chips
Queso dip and tortilla chips
Crackers/cheese/veggies/dip tray
Mini cheeseburger sliders on Hawaiian buns with pickles and onions
Ham/genoa salami/provelone cheese strombolis
Homemade chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles

We're looking forward to it!

I know this is incredibly boring and unacceptable, but I am really trying to watch what I eat and STILL have good food! So here's what I'm thinking;

broccoli & red pepper strips with vinagrette
for dipping (I'd LOVE a good lo-cal dip recipe, but don't have one)
buffalo baked chicken strips on skewers
layered jello cups with cool whip (I make these every year regardless)
popcorn

Exciting, eh? ;)

So far I know we're having pulled pork sandwiches
pototo salad
cole slaw
stuffed jalapenos
cheese dip
veggie tray
hot wings

I've read that SuperBowl is the main kick off to flu season due to double dipping:eek:

So far.....Prepared from the freezer section
Hot wings - frozen Tyson, I just love em!
Mozzarella sticks

DH wants sliders so I have been on the hunt for the perfect bun!
Ground beef, bacon, pastrami & cheese - with asst. toppings

Chili cheese dip & chips

Bacon wrapped pineapple

We have an about 10 friends coming - they will all bring a favorite appetizer with them.

Its all about the food and the commercials!

It depends on if the nieces/nephews come. If they do, it'll be a big pot of White Chicken Chili. I think DW is making Queso dip, so not sure what else we may be having. I'm trying to keep the menu at a minimum (trying to lose some weight), because I know we eat way too much on that day.

I think I'm just having both of my sister-in-laws over and I'm making:

- lemon pepper wings

- Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches

- Guacamole with chips

- Broccoli pizza

- Cupcakes

It's just the 4 of us (DH, me and 13/15yr old boys).

We usually just order some pizza. And get soda (we don't normally drink soda except on special occasions)

I'd like to make a couple snackie type things though. Maybe a couple of those prepared frozen appetizers. Chips/dip.

I'll probably also make a dessert of some sort. Maybe an ice cream bar with a few different toppings.

We're throwing a party, expecting 8 to 12 guests. We're providing a hot dog bar with chili and many other toppings. Also a dip made of chorizo, Mexican Velveeta and a can of no-bean chili.

Here's what I think we'll be doing...

Veggies and dip
Meatballs, pineapple, roasted red pepper pieces on a small skewer
Chili with shredded cheddar / homemade bread
Chips (because they've already eaten the Crunch 'N Much!)

I actually like football but also LOVE the food. ;)

Right now I think I am serving:

Meat/Cheese/Veggie Tray
Buffalo Wing Dip with carrots, celery and chips
Cocktail Wienies in Hawaiian sauce
Frito Pie (Frito crust with chili, sharp cheddar cheese, onions in a casserole dish with a dollop of sour cream when served)

Possibly a chocolate cream pie for dessert. :)

Jets Pepperoni pizza

Velveeta Cheese & Chili dip

Guacamole

Assorted tortilla chips

My parents menu... Same EVERY year!

We are doing a superbowl party at my Grandma's and so far the menu is

Chicken wings in both honey bbq and buffalo
Swiss Bacon Dip
Crab Dip
Veggies with dip
BBQ pork
hashbrown casserole
coleslaw
pickles
creme de minth cake
football shaped sugar cookies

It's just mom and myself and we don't really watch the game. We watch the commercials and use it as an excuse to eat a bunch of junk... cause, you know, it's tradition!

So far I have:
Pan Fried Onion Dip
Coconut Shrimp and Dip (the red lobster dip recipe)
Cheese and Crackers

I want one more substantial snack and then something sweet to finish it off with.

Do you bake the Frito pie? I apologize I'm a dummy in the kitchen and need EVERYTHING explained, often twice:scared1::scared1:

What is Swiss Bacon Dip? Would you share a recipe?

We don't know what we're doing yet. Our friends host a party every year and the theme is the host city of the Super Bowl. So, I'm doing *something* from Texas. I make a good no-bean beef chili but my friends always make white chicken chili so I think I'll skip that. Maybe I'll do something more Tex-Mex.
