Summer Bay Resort or Silver Lake Resort?

We are planning our 2nd trip to WDW and are ready to book for May. I am torn between Summer Bay and Silver Lake. Can anyone help me with any feedback about either place? Thanks in advance!

We stayed at summer bay 4 years ago. It was really nice but I remember it being kind of far from the parks. Not sure if Silver Lake is closer or not.

I'd be tempted to go with Silver Lake for a Disney-centric vacation. Summer Bay is a little nicer, but if you're focused on the parks, the extra 10-15 minutes is going to matter---espeically if you take a mid-day break.

I'm a light sleeper and commented while we were there last week that I'd hate to have one of the Silver Lake units right on Sherbeth Rd. Bound to be noisy unless they've got some great soundproofing.

I've never stayed at Silver Lake, but we really like Summer Bay. We were right next door at Liki Tiki last week and even with peak season traffic, the drive wasn't bad. Other times of the year it wouldn't be a problem at all.

This will be our third trip to Silver Lake - love the convenience of it. Got a week timeshare for a steal a few years ago. One of my priorities on vacation is customer service and I can say without hesitation that Silver Lake has always met or exceeded my expectations.

Less than 3 weeks til we are there! WHOOT!

If you are looking in Weeks, you either have a trade power issue, or are barred due to the 1-in-4 rule---you are also a little bit late. There are 2BR units available for all but the first week.

I'm looking to use two weeks from 6/27/10 to 7/4/10. Two bedroom units would be nice. If not, the larger 1 bedroom unit with two baths would be fine as well.

We are staying at Silver Lake in May also, got a super deal from a friend. It will be our first trip staying offsite, but at the price I got, we could not pass it up. I have read many reviews online, and they are mostly positive. I am not a very picky person, and again, because the price is enabling us to spend money on extra things (Discovery Cove, Cirque, character dinners, etc.) it will have to reallllllly be bad for me to complain. I'm really looking forward to having a lot of room with a family of 5, and after all, we will be at Disney, so it definitely will be great!

We stayed at Summer Bay in a 3 bedroom lock off in Fall of 07. Enjoyed it so much that when the opportunity came up last summer to become a owner, we bought in. We have stayed their again this summer, and it will become our yearly Disney vacation spot. Every experience we have has has been wonderful. From the front desk, to the pools, the grounds, amenities, etc. Every need has always been met. The only down fall we found, which I have found to be pretty standards were timeshares are concerned, is no pizza pans. Which seems kinda silly to me. But that was my only complaint.
