Suggestions for Orlando restaurants?

For an adults only meal our favorite remains Seasons 52 on West Sand Lake (Dr. Phillips area). They have a seasonally varied menu with a focus on local foods. Quality and presentation are very good, portions are reasonable (not huge). Deserts come in cool little glasses; they are all 2-bites; just enough to calm the sweet tooth without sending insulin levels off the chart.

Okay i have been wanting to go to Season's 52 for the past 6 or 7 years and this year I am going to do it. The only down side I see is the two bite desserts that are "not enough to send the insulin level off the charts" I love sweet, the sweeter the better! I guess I could go to Cheesecake Factory for dessert.

There are tons of good restaurants on Sandlake Road.

Itallian - Carrabbas, or this one by outback steak house i forgot its name, i think its caloled DiMaggios or something (ill find out tomorrow because ill be in WDW)

Maggianos is good on I Drive they are a chain but they are good esp if you get family style. You always leave with enough for lunch the next day.

Yes, Season's 52 is good. It's not my favorite place but alright, my wife likes it. The desserts are small and they seem to push them on you. I usually order two of them.

I second the suggestion for Cafe Tu Tu Tango on International Drive. We go there more than once each visit. The food is EXCELLENT and we are VERY particular.

Another place I suggest is Colordo's Steak Place, also next to a mexican resturant. Therre is one more, I think its called Keystone or something like that, amazing steaks.

If you want a really great adult dining experience try the bull and bear restaurant at the Waldorf. The chocolate Souffle is to die for. The steaks there are amazing. Really great atmosphere. I always make a ressie there when I am in town.

Kim - Do you know where I can find a menu with prices? Or better yet, is the price on par with the California Grill? We are thinking of trying it this trip. I am a filet person and DH is a steak person so it looks like it is right up our alley. Thanks, Penny

I know you said you'd prefer no chains, but I had dinner with a girlfriend at Ocean Prime on West Sand Lake Road last year, and it was wonderful. Great atmosphere for a grown-up night out, great martinis (with blue cheese olives, so important ) at the bar, and a perfect steak dinner. I'd definitely go back.

If there is a chain "family restaurant" with two or more locations anywhere in the continental US, you can be sure that one of those locations is within 5 minutes of a WDW border. Like invasive weeds in a garden, they tend to choke out anything local.

You can go a little more upscale up by the convention center, with their expense-account-bearing guests, but still need to search a little for something "local". The Dr. Phillips area is one place to look.

NOT TRUE. Neither Cheeseburger in Paradise or Dave's Famous BBQ have restaurants in the Orlando area.

The only reason I know this is because they sent me coupons for my Birthday and I thought I would use them on vacation. Except, there are none in Orlando.
