Strange pictures you have taken

What are some of the more unique pictures you have in your collection (not things you steal from Google or other posters)? Let's see them!

I took a picture of a toilet once. It was the toilet condom that prompted the picture.

I took a picture of the purse hook in a bathroom stall with my phone. It was the UGLIEST thing and it just seemed so out-of-place! And I know the owner of the place and I had to tease him about it.

Ha ha the first and only time I've seen one of those was at O'Hare... I always wonder if it's just two and they just recirculate.

I have a video of a toilet cleaning thing. It was in the casino in Monte Carlo, you flush the toilet and the seat turns around. The small things in life amuse me.

While we're on teh subject of toilets....

I did pee in it, sad to say it was one of the "nicer" toilets I used on my travels. I think this particular toilet was in Italy. It's basically just a thing in the ground, you have to straddle the ceramic, aim for the hole, and hope you don't lose your footing. BTW, this was in the woman's room.

But one of the most fun pictures I have, just because I'm so proud I got it, even though it's a bit blurry and dark, i love it. I have never seen anything like it before.

That's a dog on the shoulders of a guy riding a bike. A friend and I were in Budapest, just relaxing on a few benches in this square, and all of a sudden, this guy bikes up and his dog jumps off his shoulders. I did a double take and wished I had gotten a picture of it. Well, our bus comes, and he picks up with his dog while we're on the bus. I quickly grabbed my camera and took the picture. I don't know why it amuses me so much...maybe because i saw it in person on a regular evening, and not on some TV talent show.

Mine was in a Chinese Restraunt in Columbia Maryland. The food is fantastic, but I don't like to pee there. I imagine that thing going around in circles....not even two of them (ew!)

This wasn't so much taking a picture of something strange as it was something strange ending up in one of my photos.

The backstory: This past Halloween, I took my kids on a weekend trip to Gettysburg. We did one of the "Ghost Walks." Not really educational, but the kids liked it. We went past a building that was used as a field hospital during the Civil War. I snapped a photo, thinking nothing of it.

Just for the record, I don't necessarily believe in ghosts. But I guess if there was somewhere they were going to show up, this would be the place, right? Here's the photo I took.

I blew it up on my computer to get a closer look at it. Is it my imagination or is there someone standing in that window?

The one I saw was also at O'Hare.

I've wondered the same thing about the plastic thing on it. How do we know it is a new one every time? I've had the same thought as you that it is the same one going around and around. I even thought that the next time I fly through there I would put a little drop of nail polish on there to see.

I'm not sure I can compete with all the potty pictures.

I would have to search for them, but I tend to take photos of food. I have a photo of some pork chops I grilled because they were perfect. Only flipped once, juicy looking with beautiful grill marks. They were award-winning.

I also took a picture of an egg. I cracked it to make breakfast one morning and it was blood-red. Needless to say, we didn't eat it.

My favorite restaurant! We just had dinner there on New Year's Eve!

And I can never get the plastic thing to rotate anyway, so I just treat it like any other public toilet.

Now I want some Sesame Chicken!

Back on 2001, DH and I ended up at that large McD's on International Drive, and I went to the restroom and had to come back for my camera. I had never seen a McD's bathroom with dozens of guilded mirrors...

It was pre-digital so I could not show DH till we got home. He felt slighted...he said the men's room was just a normal john...

I will see if I can find it and scan it.

What do you do when you have to go #2 when they have those kinds of "toilets"?

I'm not sure what you do... I guess just hope you don't have to go #2 in a public potty? One public restroom I went to, also in Italy, had glass doors on the stalls. Why a toilet needs a glass door is beyond me. Sure it looked pretty, but I'm not too fond of the idea of people looking at me pee, nor am I all to pleased with the way of checking if the stall is free or not.

I actually do tend to take a lot of random pictures. On my last trip to Europe, I have tons of pictures of food because my grandpa always said I never eat anything and that's why I come back from Europe so thin. So I have tons of pictures of food that I ate. And for some strange reason, I am fascinated by bathrooms in other countries, I have so much video just of the different bathrooms that I used, one shower was on a 3 foot platform and there was nothing to hold on to, no step or anything. Getting out was tricky. Another bathroom was so tiny, you could sit on the toilet, brush your teeth and take a shower all at the same time. But that's all on video.

I also have a picture, though not uploaded online, of the airtran pretzel bag. I love the back of it, where they have the instructions. I was so highly amused by it, I took a picture of the bag, and also kept the bag somewhere. Next time anybody flies airtran, be sure to read the back of the bag.
