Star Wars Weekends, 24 Hour Party and Shenanigans UPDATE10/16 Star Wars Sci Fi bfast

Day 6

We had a very well earned lazy morning and slept in this day. When we were finally up we made our way to Epcot. We took a quick spin on the 3 Caballeros ride, then got a tasty cold chai tea and set up camp near the Epcot character training spot.

A family of ducks soon came trundling up to us. The mother must have recognized that we were sane human beings who do not chase after ducks, so she let her ducklings come right up to us and she settled down for a nap.

That squirrel was a nasty photo bomber.

I made a pretty lame hidden mickey with condensation from my drink:

We thought we saw some characters getting ready to come out, but then the skies opened up and it poured. We stayed huddled at our table under our umbrella.

The rain kept up with little infrequent breaks every so often. We decided to play pavilion hopping and waited for the drizzly times and raced from pavilion to pavilion trying to stay dry.

Aladdin and Jasmine's line was really long since they are inside, so we skipped it and stopped in at France to have some blurry lunch.

We did get the chance to meet Belle after we ate. She was meeting inside near the entrance to the French movie. I can't find the pictures though. hmm. Oh well, you all missed out on a very heavily make uped Belle.

After that we had some FP+ to burn, so we headed on over to Soarin.

Brian requested to have a very horrible picture with Patrick, his idol.

This is where we had a new idea for our MNSSHP costumes. We thought Brian could be Patrick and the rest of us could be other well known ride pre-show people. But really, the only other great one we could think of was the Dino Institute people with their little dino puppet, so that idea died.

Next up was my favorite: Spaceship Earth

I think Disney needs more rides like this. It just kind of is quintessential Disney to me. Animatronics, smells, an innovative ride system and an interesting plotline. And we learn something!

It was time to leave and head to our next park, but first we stopped for a photopass picture:

Soon we were in AK and ready to get our picture in front of all the construction walls:

Then it was time to meet a character who had just started meeting again!

Tarzan! Funny enough, there were mostly ladies in line. Tarzan was very confused by Figment. Come to think of it, Tarzan was confused by everything. Here is he wondering around and staring off into the bushes:

Tarzan was almost too much into character, if you catch my meaning. He was kind of hard to talk to. He didn't know what anything was and he barely spoke any english. He did want us to pose like him.

We saw that Pocahontas didn't have a long line in her new area, so we waited 5 minutes to see her.

We stopped at another photopass near the entrance to Africa:

The new counter service restaurant had just opened in Africa so of course we had to check it out.

Brian got the ribs which he enjoyed:

I got the corn dog sausage thing, which I thought was kind of tasteless and dry, it definitely could have benefited from some sort of dipping sauce:

AK really goes all out with their themeing and I really appreciate it.

We decided to see a favorite:

Hey Pumba!

The show was really excellent as always.

More great atmosphere pictures:

Brian always likes to do the animal trails and sometimes we end up missing them, so we started down the African animal trail and saw this big guy:

Lookin a little chubby there Timon:

Grubbin for grubs:

We made it to the gorillas and realized that the little newborn gorilla was out!

Sooo cute, the father was in there with them too:

We like Patrick a lot too. Soarin' is DS favorite ride. Tarzan looks like he may not pass a random drug test:crazy: The dishes and garbage at the Harambe Market are hilarious. I wonder if they just asked the CMs to bring in their old stuff that was going to be thrown out anyway. Love the meerkats and baby gorilla. They are so cute:dogdance:

Whew, I missed a LOT of updates!

I loved hearing about your incredibly productive SWW day! Makes me realize how much slower we were with a 2-year-old along. You got SO much done and met so many characters! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Aw, those were some cute ducklings at Epcot. And your blurry French lunch still looks delicious!

I love all the details in AK....always so much to look at!

Yeah Tarzan was something else. I'm still happy he was out. Love to see different characters.

I just kind of started in on the SWW day and then I just couldn't stop writing about it since it was so much fun. Star Wars :cloud9:

You may have gone slower with a 2 year old, but I bet it was still an awesome time!

I have that Figment and that Star Wars tshirt with the colored light sabers. That is all :-).

Clearly, we both own a lot of awesome stuff.

After we finished the African animal trail we made our way over towards Kilamanjaro for our safari ride. The line wasn't long at all. My strategy for this 2 park day had been to get afternoon FP+ for Epcot, then we'd hope over to AK around 3 or 4. Usually AK clears out majorly around that time, and my strategy worked and there were very short lines for everything.

We had the most amazing safari driver this trip. He was really from an African country and he just had so much enthusiasm and joy for the animals. He really played up the safari storyline and it was probably one of the best safari trips I've had.

Some more of that awesome themeing in the new Africa area:

We couldn't go to AK without taking a crazy ride back to the past, so we headed to Dinosaur. On the way we stopped to see our good friend Marley, the crocodile who we learned all about last trip.

We had a lovely ride back to the Cretaceous.

After our close call, a run away train was calling our names, and we had to answer.

We were trying to do 'dog out the car window' poses, but mine got blocked.

Even though AK was covered with construction walls, I like the walls around the Asia section.

http://s293.photobucket.com/user/rachelashbrook/media/SWW%202015/Day%206/20150525_200349_zpsmiygu9ol.jpg.html][/URL]

They looked like blankets and local advertisements I think they are some of the best down Disney construction walls.

I've always really liked this area in Asia at nighttime:

AK was closing, but Brian Stephanie and I didn't feel like quitting just yet. We split up from their mom at the buses and the three of us hopped a bus to MK!! Yaaaaay MK at night!!!

Our first stop at the MK was to visit Tinkerbell so Stephanie could show off her stuff from the Disneyland Tinkerbell half marathon.

The photopass photographer took a lot of pictures during this meet, which was great. But they took one of each of the three of us focused just on our face. And this is how mine came out...

I don't understand what emotion I was feeling, or why I was looking right at the photographer. Ugh. I feel like this should be my new avatar picture. Pretty sure it accurately describes me.

After Tink, we stopped at the castle to watch the projection show.

The lanterns are my favorite part!

...and then we left before Wishes, hahahaha. Wishes just aren't my favorite fireworks or nighttime show. The other 2 got dole whips and I got the citrus swirl, orange bird all the way!

The park was pretty much closed at this point, but we wanted to watch the parade, so we settled ourselves at a rope and amused ourselves until the parade started:

We enjoyed the parade, but I'm not including any pics here because this entry is almost at the limit anyway, and you all know what it looks like.

After that we just slowly walked out and took a few pictures and enjoyed our last magical MK night.

Looks like a great AK day. Love that park at night, just wish they had some later hours so it was actually dark while people are still there ; ) Understand why they don't with the animals and all, but hopeful the new river show will change that. And of course love MK at night too.

And congrats on the Ohio State victory. My poor hokies tried, just couldn't pull it off.

Well, that was a long break from this report. I only have one day left...so I may as well finish what I started.

I may be starting a different, very long trip report soon anyway. I have dubbed this the fall/winter of Disney. In a few weeks I'll be leaving for the Wine and Dine half marathon. Then I'm attending DISapalooza in Diagon Alley for a weekend trip the first weekend in December. Then in the middle of December we head to Disneyland for our ABD Backstage Magic trip. After that triple whammy I think it will be a while before another trip, so I'll want to keep Disney alive by trip reporting about my experiences.

Without further adieu...

We had a pre-park opening Sci Fi Star Wars breakfast at DHS at 8 am. We were all dragging, being very tired from our trip. We ended up being a little late and I rushed us all through the park, trying to get to breakfast.

We lined up for our picture, but it was only Darth Vader :(

We were seated quickly.

The characters soon started to come by:

This was the pastry plate, there were 4 of us eating and we got two plates in all:

They were all pretty tasty.

At this point in the breakfast, they did not have any of the little mini lightsabers that they'd been handing out before. I really wanted one and thought the jawas might have one to trade, so I pulled out my ace. I gave them one of the special Tomorrowland pins we got at the Parks Blog 24 hour day party, I told them it was a special pin that they could only give to dreamers. I think they understood it was a somewhat rare item because they both dug around in their pouches for a long time (looking for something good I think). They eventually came out with another pin, and I don't think they had the mini lightsabers for trade. Oh well.

Oh Greedo, you definitely did not shoot first.

Here is my blue milk (love love love) and the little parfait thing, you could pick that or a fruit cup:

I chose the fruit cup because yogurt is not my favorite, it was pretty good. I kind of forget what Brian and I had for breakfast....

But there it is.

The jawas came by again:

We were ready to go right as the park was opening, but on the way out we saw that Boba was there and I asked if we could have a picture redo and we were able.

As we were leaving I peaked down the street that had the carriage:

There was that woman in the Cinderella live action movie dress down there with a film crew all around. Not sure what that was about but we had places to be.

Brian and his mom were kind of wiped out, so they said they were going to shop around a bit and then save a spot in line for Baymax and Hiro. Before they got in line for Baymax and Hiro, they noticed Minnie had no line so stopped in to say hello:

I believe they came out at 10:30, they ended up in second in line at 9:40. I had heard that Baymax and Hiro might be leaving, so this meet was a must do. Since the park had just opened Stephanie and I thought we could get a ride in on our favorite, TOT. Which turned out to be a bad idea. It was around 9:20 am when we got in line (park opened at 9) and we ended up waiting half an hour. Ugh.

We were finally able to join back up with the others and only had about 15 minutes to wait for our super heroes.

Baymax was so adorable and funny the way that he shuffle walks!

Since we were the second group we had a very short wait. Hiro seemed to like Pan Pan a lot.

Is Baymax zombie attacking me or going in for the hug??

Hug of course! I was satisfied with my care.

Those guys were great. I really wish they could have stayed.

Since it was our last day, we were done with DHS and had other places to be!

Nice morning at DHS. I think I could see your breakfast better than my own, haha (and I think we were sitting at least in the same area, if not the same car). Love the meet with Baymax and Hiro! We didn't attempt that, due to how popular it is, but it seems like a great one.

I can't believe I missed the last update. Caught up now. I guess the board lost it's mind again. Sounds like a great trip, and I believe you are already off again. I am incredibly jealous right now. March was way too long ago, and June seems like an eternity:( Maybe once they announce SWW 2106, I will be in a happier mood.

EDIT: Wow! I definitely can't hold out until 2106. Thank goodness it's really 2016.
