Day 6
We had a very well earned lazy morning and slept in this day. When we were finally up we made our way to Epcot. We took a quick spin on the 3 Caballeros ride, then got a tasty cold chai tea and set up camp near the Epcot character training spot.
A family of ducks soon came trundling up to us. The mother must have recognized that we were sane human beings who do not chase after ducks, so she let her ducklings come right up to us and she settled down for a nap.
That squirrel was a nasty photo bomber.
I made a pretty lame hidden mickey with condensation from my drink:
We thought we saw some characters getting ready to come out, but then the skies opened up and it poured. We stayed huddled at our table under our umbrella.
The rain kept up with little infrequent breaks every so often. We decided to play pavilion hopping and waited for the drizzly times and raced from pavilion to pavilion trying to stay dry.
Aladdin and Jasmine's line was really long since they are inside, so we skipped it and stopped in at France to have some blurry lunch.
We did get the chance to meet Belle after we ate. She was meeting inside near the entrance to the French movie. I can't find the pictures though. hmm. Oh well, you all missed out on a very heavily make uped Belle.
After that we had some FP+ to burn, so we headed on over to Soarin.
Brian requested to have a very horrible picture with Patrick, his idol.
This is where we had a new idea for our MNSSHP costumes. We thought Brian could be Patrick and the rest of us could be other well known ride pre-show people. But really, the only other great one we could think of was the Dino Institute people with their little dino puppet, so that idea died.
Next up was my favorite: Spaceship Earth
I think Disney needs more rides like this. It just kind of is quintessential Disney to me. Animatronics, smells, an innovative ride system and an interesting plotline. And we learn something!
It was time to leave and head to our next park, but first we stopped for a photopass picture:
Soon we were in AK and ready to get our picture in front of all the construction walls:
Then it was time to meet a character who had just started meeting again!
Tarzan! Funny enough, there were mostly ladies in line. Tarzan was very confused by Figment. Come to think of it, Tarzan was confused by everything. Here is he wondering around and staring off into the bushes:
Tarzan was almost too much into character, if you catch my meaning. He was kind of hard to talk to. He didn't know what anything was and he barely spoke any english. He did want us to pose like him.
We saw that Pocahontas didn't have a long line in her new area, so we waited 5 minutes to see her.
We stopped at another photopass near the entrance to Africa:
The new counter service restaurant had just opened in Africa so of course we had to check it out.
Brian got the ribs which he enjoyed:
I got the corn dog sausage thing, which I thought was kind of tasteless and dry, it definitely could have benefited from some sort of dipping sauce:
AK really goes all out with their themeing and I really appreciate it.
We decided to see a favorite:
Hey Pumba!
The show was really excellent as always.
More great atmosphere pictures:
Brian always likes to do the animal trails and sometimes we end up missing them, so we started down the African animal trail and saw this big guy:
Lookin a little chubby there Timon:
Grubbin for grubs:
We made it to the gorillas and realized that the little newborn gorilla was out!
Sooo cute, the father was in there with them too:
