I don't know what may prices were but we just put an offer and it was accepted 5 days ago on SSR, 150 pts with 52 pts banked from 2012 and buyer pays closing costs and MF's for $68 per point. We made some lower offers and no one seemed willing to go down very much.

Us to, just bought two 150 point contracts with all 2014 points onward or $65 a point. They are currently in ROFR. Also made several lower offers, but got sick of waiting and really liked getting all the points we wanted with the same use year from a single seller.

I just passed ROFR on two triple loaded SSR contracts at $60.50 and $57 a point respectively. I paid closing and maintenance fees. That's probably the lowest net cost I've seen on here in the past 6 months. It's up to you to decide what you are looking to accomplish. In my opinion, the people above paid too much (no disrespect intended, just my personal opinion). But from their perspective, they still saved $50+ per point over direct, and that's enough of a savings for them. :) And like I always say, only one person can get the best price. Everybody else overpaid. :)

One caveat, getting both those deals took a lot of phone calls and a lot of work. Probably not for everybody.

In this context, what does "triple loaded" mean? I presume banked points + regular points are part of it. What is the third component?

In case it wasn't entirely obvious, I just posted my May rundown. I had to sample the deeds, because there were just too many to look at all of them.

I rent out the extra points to bring down the acquisition costs. I'll start using the points in my 2013 use year.

I believe he means they had 2011 banked points, 2012 current points and 2013 points coming this year.
