Split stay at 2 non-home resorts

I was wondering if this was doable and if it was a "gray area" like walking a reservation.

The last time I had a split stay at 2 non-home resorts, I called 7 months ahead for the first part, waited a few days and called when the 2nd half was at 7 months.

Could you call at 7 months and book your 2nd resort for the whole week, hang up and call back and change the first 3 days to a different resort?

You would not be able to drop the days from the beginning because that would make the check-in date greater than 7 months.

The closest you could get is book the full week at resort 2 and the first 3 days at resort 1. After 3 days, drop the first three days at resort 2. This would take extra points but would guarantee both resorts at 7 months.
