Weighed in #166.8 for the past 3 days.

Very tired today. I looked back in my journal. I am pretty sure this was about my starting weight when I took this job back in Oct 2008. I am very thankful to be back at this point, but definitely focused on losing more weight!

Weight this am: #165.4

Clearly I am an emotional eater. I've been able to totally curb most snacking as I am focused as of late between using a appetite curbing pill several days a week and spending most evenings with DH instead of filling my loneliness with food.

Walked 50 minutes on Sunday with DH. Plan to walk tonight for at least 30 min. during soccer practice.

So far this week I walked with DH on Mon, Tues, Thur. We upped our distance on Mon/Tues. Yesterday we were both tired and we did a 1.2 mi route. On Mon I also walked at soccer with another Mom during practice for 30 min. Wednesday I had a very long walk at work due to a meeting on another campus. It was probably almost 2 miles total. Also worked some more walks into my workweek. I sit too much at work and I am trying to do at least 4 floors of steps a day too.

Weight all week solid at #165.4
BMI: 28.4

Weight up today. Bloated. Female issues. Craved snacks all weekend. I ate a chocolate bar on Sunday night even.

Sun: walked 40 min in am/ gardened & weeded in afternoon/walked another 1.2 mi in PM.

Mon: soccer/and PM walk tonight!

Took a bag of the easter candy to work today... Although I've eaten some jelly beans, it isn't just me!
 
Work has been nuts.

Weight did not come down after period. I clearly snacked too much.

#168.6 for the past week

I have been getting in some good walking
Sunday - total of 4+ miles
Monday - about an hour total

Goals:
I'm going to try to eat a salad everyday this month.
This week I'm just trying to move more. I would like to restart C25K.

What's new? Weight is up. I am very displeased.

I've been walking more with DH & trying to eat salads at least once a day as my main meal. Clearly this isn't enough intervention or it is not filling me up as I want to eat at night again.

So this week I am going to focus on just 3 things.

I must exercise 30 min a day.
I cannot eat after 8 PM.
I cannot eat between meals.

Today - P starting
I exercised about 20 min this am.
I have exercise planned tonight too.
Breakfast (6 AM) - coffee, diet coke, 1 cup strawberries with some sugar sprinkled atop.
10 AM hungry - I had a Luna Bar.
12:30 PM: 1 banana, turkey breast, romaine salad, 1 T light dressing, 2 water, diet coke.

1 c strawberries plain
1 chili cheese beef hotdog in bun

Exercise cont.

Ran/walked/squats/running exercises for 30 min.
Walked with dog and DH in pm for 1+ mile

Bx: 12 oz diet coke, 1 Luna bar
Lunch: lean ravioli can, 1 apple
8 waters so far today. Hungry. I did eat 4 mini chocolate bars today. :mad:

Exercise: 25 min in am. Plan to walk tonight.
 
Lunch: 280 cal chicken caesar salad, 2 svg cherries, Diet coke
Snack: 1 svg cherries Water: 5 during work day
Dinner: omelet with cheese, onion, fresh tomato, 1 bud light, 12 oz spklg water
Snack: 1 fruit popsicle, 1/2 c trail mix
Exercise: 1.2 mi dog walk + 30 min LS

7/20 WT: 179.4
GOAL: Lose 20 lb by Oct 4.

Plan: exercise 30 min qd. Stop eating this week by 9 PM.
Evaluate next Tues for new plan.

Exercise: 15 min LS am
Bx: 12 oz diet coke, 2 HB eggs with salt

Walking/Running - Ran Mapquest. It is 1029 miles to WDW.

Lunch:
Amy's Teriyaki Tofu Bowl, 1 svg green grapes, 1 svg cherries, 1 diet coke.
 
7/20:
Snack: half of a brownie, 1 svg green grapes
Dinner: 2 svg chicken enchiladas, 1 sm salad with vinaigrette
Eve: 1 bud light lime, one bag Trader Joes sweet potato chips
Exercise: 1.2 mi dog walk, 5 min LS

Attitude: Patient, Glad to be Back to Tracking
7/20 - Success on exercise and 9 pm stop eating

7/21 - Wt: 179.4
BX: 1 diet coke, 1 Luna bar
Lunch: 1 diet coke, 4 waters thus far, 1 310 cal lean cuisine, 2 svg fresh snap peas, 1 cup green grapes.

Attitude: Good.
Note: Cut back eating cut off time by half hour next week.
 
Worked on an exercise plan to increase intensity over the next week this morning during a meeting.

7/21:
Dinner: 2 svg canned sweet potatoes, 1 piece cheese bread, 1 chicken breast kabob with bbq sauce, one glass red wine
Total water: about 56 oz.
Snack: had an additional 4 oz red wine, but no FOOD!
Exercise: walked dogs thru claybrook sub, LS 20 min.

7/22: Wt: #179.4
Bx: TJ maple oatmeal packet with milk & 1T dried cherries, coffee.
AM: 12 oz diet coke, 40 oz water thus far.
Lunch: green snap peas, 1 sm can spicy V8, red grapes, 1 diet coke.
Exercise: 4 flights of stairs at work extra. Plan to spin tonight and walk dogs to increase intensity...

Attitude: Clockwatching last night and a bit of cupboard hunting for a snack when I wasn't really hungry. I really serious issues with evening snack time.
 
7/22 Lunch correction: i also had some pecans cooked with spices.
snack: starbucks chai tea with skim milk grande size
dinner: 2 bud light limes, 1 sl pizza, bread sticks, 3 fun size M&M pkgs.
late night snack: 11 PM 2 snack size hershey bars.

TERRIBLE NIGHT!! Bad dinner & No exercise. Also broke 9 PM rule.
Weight today: 177.2

Now honestly, what is that about??

BX: coffee, luna bar
AM Snack: pecans, red grapes, 1 diet coke can
Lunch: 1 chicken skewer, 1 svg snap peas, 1 diet coke can, few red grapes
Exercise: 4 flight stairs extra at work thus far.

Keep it cool tonight.

Bx: 1 luna bar (180 cal), 10 oz diet cola (caff free)
10:30 - 1 peach (66 calories)
12:00 - 1 svg moussaka (estimate 6 oz 300 calories), 20 oz diet coke
20 oz water thru day
Dinner: 15 oz diet coke, Wendy's 500 calories from website
Exercise: 30+ minute dog walk PM, 15 calories light lemonade mixed with water.
NO EVENING SNACK!! :)
About 1100 calorie day.

I was reading Shape on the train & I had a moment where the idea of eating clicked. I know how to eat to lose weight, I just need to learn to eat healthfully as a lifestyle.

Here's what I read:

Multiply your weight GOAL by 10 = minimum calories for the day
If you are active you can add another 3 caloreis per pound.
On exerise days, add half the calories you burn to alotted calorie intake to keep energy level up.

SO if I want to weight 130, I should stick to 1300 calories. I am only exercising moderately, so I don't think I need to add those back in right now.

Bx: 8 oz diet cola (caff free), 1 luna protein bar (180 cal/ 12g protein)
 
Walked to lunch and back. Too hot to walk fast. Also did 4 flights of stairs during a break.

Lunch: 20 oz sweet tea (est 150 cal), 2 fish baja tacos (est 400 cal), tortilla chips (est 140 cal) = 690

Very nice outing today with DH.
 
7/28/10
Had a big meal out while catching up with a friend.
Shared a bottle of pinot, had an omelet. Just found out the calories in it were 751! Slice of bread - 151 each. I think I ate 3. Definitely overate!!

Well I figured as much so I did manage to not have an evening snacks when I got home. Also very tired and did not exercise.

7/29/10 Wt 177.4 (no change)
Bx: 2 hard boiled eggs (140 cal), 1 sl carrot bread (150 cal per Mimi's)
Snack: soy milk steamer 16 oz (200 cal)
Lunch: 1 c blueberries (83 cal), WW english mufin sandwich (210 cal)

I've drank 40 oz of water so far today. Went walking for about 15 min. I've done 5 flights extra today.

Have about 500 calories for evening.
 
7/28
Dinner: 1 manwich (84 cal + 70, 2nd manwich with just 1/2 bun (42 cal + 70). Fresh salsa and about 10 tortilla chips (150 cal). 8 oz lowfat choc milk (160 cal). = 576 cal

Drank at least another 20 oz of water in PM.

Definitely not the best dinner, but rushing home from grocery store and back out for haircut. Did manage 1+ mile dog walk and a decent pace. Since it was dark, I kept working out my arms too!

Good news: NO EVENING SNACKS! Even ran to Walgreen's and managed to stay out of the candy. Trying to look at it as empty calories.

7/30 Wt: 176.2 :) I'll take it.

AM: Stretched a good 5 minutes, At work took 4 extra flights this am.

Bx: 8 oz V8 (50), 1 HB egg (70), half of a large low fat muffin (220 per Mimis)
= 340 cal

Man, that 'low-fat' muffin was killer. I did enjoy it though and only ate half from my dinner the other night. Tossed the remaining half in the trash!

I'm planning to eat well this weekend & increase exercise as we have no major plans... :surfweb:
 
Ran my BMR to update myself. It is 1539. I need to undercut this to lose weight by eating more healthfully and exercising.

It takes 3,500 calories to equal one pound of body weight. Generally, dieters dump an average of 1,000 calories per day in an effort to lose 2 pounds of body fat per week.


So if I'm trying to eat around 1300 cal a day, I need to work off 5,300 calories in exercise! SO, walking the dogs isn't enough. I need more intensity. Also, as I lose weight, I think my BMR might go down as well bc my base weight will be lower. In a way this is depressing, but I'm going to slog on here. It is a LIFESTYLE change.

Friday: start laundry, walk dogs, spin 30 min
Sat: walk/jog 2 mi - do some yoga/pilates
Sun: walk dogs 2 mi/ spin 30 min

Continue no eating after 8:30 PM.

60 oz water total today
20 oz diet coke
Dinner: Fajitas (310), salsa & 80 cal tortilla chips, 60 calories fruit juice.

Roughly 1195 cal.

Rained tonight & DS needed my company. Did LS for 45 minutes.

Decent day.
