southern carribean cruise help

Hi everyone!! I am starting to get anxiety about a january cruise leaving from San Juan. We would love to stay a few nights before and enjoy Puerto Rico. Any advice on hotels would be great. Open to anything from Old San Juan to beach locations. Thanks in advance

Hi,
We are going on the January 24th cruise. We decided to go early too just in case we have another bad winter like we did this year. We have decided to go Thursday night leaving us with Friday, Saturday and much of Sunday to enjoy. If a blizzard comes we still should make it! We are looking at the Hilton or Marriott properties but that is because we will use reward points we have to stay for free. Tripadvisor has many reviews of the hotels but as typical the reviews are polar, rarely does someone post an average review.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan before our Southern cruise last October.

We stayed at a Courtyard near the airport last spring before flting to the BVI. It was very nice. The beach was clean, nice pool, and a small casino.

Cruises from SJ leave from Panamerican pier. So you either stay there OR stay in old San Juan (cruises with a port stop use the OSJ pier). Depends on what your plans are.

I have my eyes on hotel el convento for our pre or post cruise time. And the Panamerican area embassy suites for the post or pre. (One for pre, one for post)
