A good friend of mine is moving to TN and she LOVES music. Another friend gave me a scrapbook page to decorate for her and I wanted to put song lyrics on there about friends or saying goodbye or remembering the good times. Disney or not, it would be appreciated! :)

TIA!

My favorite for someone leaving is one we sang at the end of a mission trip in high school. This is the chorus from the song "Friends are Friends Forever" by Michael W. Smith.

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them.
And a friend will not say never,
'Cause the welcome will not end.
Though it's hard to let you go,
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends.

The entire song is about a friend moving away and can easily be found with a google search if you wanted more of it.

I was going to post that song as well! I've actually been singing since last night! :) I think it is by Michael W. Smith.

First thing that comes to my mind is James Taylor's "You've Got a Friend"

I love this song about friends. It's Garth.

A Friend To Me

Well you and I
We're buddies
And we've been since we first met
Me and you
Well we've sure been through
Our share of laughter and regret

Lord knows we've had our bad days
And more than once we've disagreed
But you've always been a friend to me

You can be so stubborn
There's times I think you just like to fight
And I hope and pray
I live to see a day
When you say I might be right

And there's times I'd rather kill you
Than listen to your honesty
But you've always been a friend to me

You've always been
Time and again
The one to take my hand
And show to me it's okay to be
Just the way I am
With no apology

Oh you've always been
And you will 'til God knows when
Yes you've always been a friend to me

Thank You For Being A Friend
( Andrew Gold )

Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down a road and back again
Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidant

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend

If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a Cadillac
Whatever you need any time of the day or night

I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow

And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear even though it's hard to hear
I will stand real close and say
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend

And when we die
And float away
Into the night
The milky way
You'll hear me call
As we ascend
I'll say your name
Then once again

Thank you for being a friend

This comes from girl scouts, but is very true:

Make new friends, but keep the old,
One is silver and the other gold.

Not exactly song lyrics, but could make a embellished square, topper, etc

That's What Friends Are For by Elton John

And I never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you

And if I should ever go away
Well then close your eyes and try
To feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember

Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well you came in loving me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you

Oh and then for the times when we're apart
Well then close your eyes and know
The words are coming from my heart
And then if you can remember

This is another Michael W. Smith song. It's one of my favorites. It's called Pray For Me.

Verse 1
Here is where the road divides
Here is where we realize
The sculpting of the Father's great design
Thru' time you've been a friend to me
But time is now the enemy
I wish we didn't have to say goodbye
But I know the road he chose for me
Is not the road he chose for you
So as we chase the dreams we're after

Chorus:
Pray for me and I'll pray for you
Pray that we will keep the common ground
Won't you pray for me and I'll pray for you
And one day love will bring us back around
Again

Verse 2
Painted on a tapestry
We see the way it has to be
Weaving thru' the laughter and the tears
But love will be the tie that binds us
To the time we leave behind us
Memeories will be our souviniers
And I know that thru' it all
The hardest part of love is letting go
But there's a greater love that holds us

Chorus:
Pray for me and I'll pray for you
Pray that we will keep the common ground
Won't you pray for me and I'll pray for you
And one day love will bring us back around
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

Won't you pray for me and I'll pray for you
Pray that we will keep the common ground
Won't you pray for me and I'll pray for you
And one day love will bring us back around
Oh, I know that love will bring us back around
Again

Well, since this is the DIS...!

How about You've Got A Friend In Me, by Randy Newman? (From the Toy Story movie)

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
Just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles, well I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you
And as the years go by
Boys, our friendship will never die
You're gonna see
It's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

There is a song by Dan Seals, I can't remember all the words right now but the main line is "If I had only one friend left, I'd want it to be you". Just a thought.

I don't have the lyrics but what about "When You're the Best of Friends" from The Fox and the Hound. I'm sure you can find the lyrics to this Disney song. THis was playing in my car when I said good bye to a friend who moved away.
