Something gross I found out about where not to watch the parade!

Uuuummmmm....and there I sit, in the dark, waiting for the parade....with a few extra guests wanting my seat....

I think I saw one by the esplanade but my wife didn't think a roach was that fast....it was fast

They're big, desert beetle-like roaches, like the one from Wall-E as opposed to the gross little quick ones like in Joe's Apartment

Here in the South we call those palmetto bugs. They're not the same as cockroaches and they're pretty much everywhere outside so their presence isn't a reflection of a lack of cleanliness. There was a big one in my house a few days ago but that's rare. I agree that they're gross but they're just another big outdoor bug here.

Cockroaches although gross are just a fact of life here in Australia, just like flies, mosquitoes and many other bugs. If we get pest control in to spray the bugs just move next door until they get pest control in and then The bugs are back. Having said that I don't want to sit near a vent and have the cockroaches climbing on us. Thanks for the warning.

To me, the roaches are no more scary than the thought of paying $70 for a birthday cake! :scared:

Then my sons 120 dollar 11th bday cake would really horrify you. And it only fed 12. I was cheaping out compared to others. My friends daughters cake was 160 but it was 2 tiered.

I think Disney cakes are delicious and worth every penny. I surprised my hubby last year at WDW with one and it was the best $90 I ever spent. They exceeded my expectations and the fondant was actually good. It was red velvet and some of the best we ever had.image.jpeg

WOW Gorgeous! And I'm glad to hear you liked the red velvet and fondant since that's what I ordered too. The design on that cake is spectacular!

Thank you , they really outdid themselves as I basically requested haunted mansion themed and my only specific request was the portrait ( which was made out of chocolate) and the scroll banner, the rest they designed. My husband legit started crying as it was a complete surprise.

You know, I've seen case stores and wondered, "Really? There are enough people looking for expensive cakes to keep these stores in business?" Indeed there are.

When we got a cake they escorted us out of the park with it. Had to take itback to hotel.
When we had our cake at Blue Bayou, they boxed up the rest for us and put it in a bag. We just took it with us for the rest of the evening. We were not escorted out:)

We got a cake last year and BB packaged it up in a box and let us walk out with it. No one escorted us out of the park. We got a big shopping bag for it and hooked it on the stroller until we went back for the night. No one ever said we had to take it out of the park right away.

I will say, this is one area that (IMO) WDW does a bit better than DLR. We didn't have as many options at DLR in terms of cake flavor/filling as we did at WDW in 2013. The cake was still good! But the difference in options was unfortunate.

Yep, I've seen some serious roaches at Disneyland as well. Rivers of America used to by infested until they drained it a couple years back.

I remember one time where we were sitting front row for Fantasmic and roaches kept running back and forth along the curb in front of the water and along the railings.. Every once and a while they would turn and run into the crowd, it was gross. Everyone that was sitting would jump up all the sudden and try to stamp them out if they ran into the crowd. Once the lights went out for the show to start you couldn't see them any longer so I kept thinking I could feel them on my legs or something, it was a nightmare.

I had a roach encounter at that same spot a few weeks back--just one. but he was big and fast. Not fast enough, as he got squished by someone behind me as I jumped up, heart beating a mile a minute.

wait a minute, wait just a freakin minute-werent you in the BB reserved dining area? you mean to tell me that you paid extra to sit in a special spot that had a roach problem? Ok I need confirmation that this issue has been cleared up or my res is so canceled. I am horrified by roaches and I will have a $70 custom birthday cake with me that I am having delivered to the BB dinner. I am not spending that kind of money for a spot that had roach trying to get to my birthday cake.
The BB special viewing area is facing the train station, in the little park with the flag pole.
