"Most lovely" is questionable. "Slow" is an absolute. :snail:

First of all no you haven't somehow shown up at Soleil's PTR...however I had to find some way to show her my purchases (she has amazing taste and if you haven't hopped over to her PTR you must...and I promise by the end you too will own a Vera Bradley or a pair of Uggs LOL), so I hope she realizes that mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery!!!

Okay we'll call this Eppy 9.5 sorta LOL!! Right now I'm listening to DIS Radio...did you guys know that DIS had a radio station that played music from the resort. I swear the people in charge of DIS are people after my own heart because the first thing I heard was the intro to Haunted Mansion...and that is my favorite ride of all time so it was kismet!!!

Anyways, back the topic at hand, I swear I'm a shop-aholic in training now LOL! Well today was my shopping day at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Foley and while I bought some great Christmas pressies for my hubby at super prices, I also bought a few things for my trip LOL!!! As if that surprises anyone!!

I found a really nice pique coat at Old Navy (thanks Meghan for the heads up). I love it, it is a very nice black jacket that will go very nicely with any church outfit and if its cold I plan to wear it to my princess dinners (yes I said dinners, but you'll have to wait to hear about that LOL)!

I also bought two pair of shoes! A new set of tennis shoes that I will have to break in before going to the parks.

And these beauties that I totally had to have because they were once $75.00and I paid $24 for them. I think these are the shoes I will be wearing with my princess top and black skirt to dinner with Cinderella. (I will only be wearing these to the dinner and then to my DIS meet with Kim, I'm not silly enough to wear these around a park LOL).

Lastly I had to stop at the Lane Bryant Outlet and see if they had any more tops and I found these...

I had way too much fun shopping today!! Thanks for letting me share!

Episode 10: “How Does An OCD Disney Planner Spend Her Day Off~~aka Why I Could Never Be A Disney Phone CM”

It has been asked on the Snowbirds Thread (those of us going in January) what our dream job at Disney would be. I can think of a million things I would love to do at Disney AND I can tell you the one thing I could never be…a phone CM. WOW!! I have to take my hat off to those folks because I don’t know how they do it and go home sane at night. If I had to deal with someone with Disney OCD…say like myself...on a constant basis for 8 straight hours…I would go bonkers. I totally have to give them kudos though because more often than not they are on their “A” game and ready to do whatever it takes to make you happy. Wednesday was one of those days. I stayed home “sick” from school. To be honest I wasn’t feeling well the day before and I was extremely tired and I just really wanted a day to relax (Ha…I swear my definition of relaxing and the one you find in the dictionary definitely don’t coincide LOL). I blame the election and just the stress of life, but this lady wanted a day off. After 10 glorious hours of sleep, I awoke at 5:30am (yes on my day off) ready to do not much of anything at all. After making sure my Prince Phillip got out the door with a lunch in hand, I decided to DIS. After inspecting the code threads and getting all excited about a possible new code, I decided to call Disney, do some funny math, and figure out my best possible deal. Because seriously, the more I save the happier Prince Phillip will be LOL!!! So I dialed the number, that yes, I now have memorized and waited.

After about 10 minutes of some sort of patriotic music and JFK giving his inaugural address, a lovely CM answered my call. I was discussing different options with her and she was gracious enough to price them for me. She then asked me if I wanted to add the dining plan. What? I qualify for a dining plan since when?? I thought you had to have a package to do that??? Well this CM went on to explain that with AP rate I could add dining to my reservation and make it a package. OOOOHHHH…the dreaded word I had been avoiding all along…a “package.” I politely told the lady I wasn’t sure a package was for me and then she asked me if I had a TS every night of my stay. (I swear they have all my information right in front of them LOL) Well I did have a TS every night so we did the math, and sure enough I definitely was going to be spending more than the $38.00 a day on food. I wasn’t completely sold at that time so I said I would think about and call back later. Well it took me all of 10 minutes to think about it. Of course I was totally running the numbers on my calculator and made sure it would be as good a deal as possible. I decided to call back and talk to another CM. I got another wonderful CM and I was discussing Disney dining but I still wasn’t quite sold on the deal so I once again hung up and thought some more about it. At this point in the day I posted on the Snowbird thread that taking off days from work is hazardous to my Disney OCD and my phone. Seriously, never let me talk myself in to another day off…who knows what might happen LOL!! Well, after a 15 minute conversation with my adorable kitty (who I’m sure didn’t want to hear her mother ramble about saving money and Disney and really just wanted her belly scratched), I called back yet again. Okay people, can we all do simple addition? Yes, in less than a 45 minute span of time, I was back on the phone with Disney for the third time. I really hope they don’t keep notes how many times you have called, but if they do, I hope I never meet any of them face-to-face!

Did I cave and get the dining plan added to my ressie this time???? Yes I did, I changed my reservation to a package. So one must ask how much money I saved. Well, when you count up the long distance bill I’m sure I racked up with my many phone calls LOL, not much!!! (Just kidding, I have free long distance)! I ended up saving about $100. That’s a good deal for me!!!

So what other things did I do on my day off? I paid off my package. As most of you know when you book a package, you have to put down a deposit. As you all know, my method of paying off this trip is with gift cards. I had already received two of my cards, so I used them. I fully paid off my package. So as of yesterday afternoon, my whole trip to Walt Disney World is paid off YAY!!! I’m so excited. When I told my hubby he said, “You mean no more money going into the black hole of Disney??” He was excited too LOL!!!!

So, on my day off, I switched to a package and proceeded to pay off said package…and it only took like 5 calls to the CMs at Disney. I posted about 50 times on the Snowbirds thread, even sort of went over to the code thread, and PM’d about 20 times. I also sorted my pantry, vacuumed, did some laundry, dusted, burned dinner (yes thanks to a delightful PM conversation with Shawna, my poor Hubby’s dinner was burned. Thank goodness for a back up plan LOL), and even made it to evening church. Wednesday was quite productive in my book and I would dare say a bit relaxing. LOL!! Now if I could have only found time to catch up on my “I Dream of Jeannie” episodes on TiVo!!! Guess I’ll save that for my next day off!

LOVE the new episode....all the phone calls to the CM :rotfl2: That made me laugh, though it is something I would do. In my case with two kids, I'm on and off Disney's website crunching numbers, because I'd have kids screaming in the background. ;)
glad you decided on the dining plan, it seems to make things so much easier
I forget have we been told every place you are eating yet? I'll be anxious to read about how you like each place, sitting and waiting for the next eppy popcorn::

JEN!! Phillip is going to hate me before we even meet ya'll!!! I am sorry I am to blame for a burned dinner!!!!!
But what a nice surprise to be noted in your fabulous trip report!!!:yay: That's so much fun!!! I love all your clothes too! The coat is wonderful--I have really turned into a jacket-loving woman, the older I get! Maybe because it adds to the layering/slimming look! And with cute jeans, my favorite denim GAP jacket (also owned by our Snowbird friend Andrea) somehow makes me look taller!!! Maybe only in my mind, but there you have it!!!

    Isn't Trixie a doll!!:flower3: I just love her!!!

I own a Denim GAP jacket too  YAY for great style LOL!!!

And don't worry I have protected your identity and told my hubby if I ever caught him on the DIS boards I would let his hunting buddies know so you're safe LOL!! :rotfl: Besides I much more enjoyed talking to you LOL and it was my fault for being so scattered brained LOL!

Hi Jen!! I think that you'll enjoy having the DDP! I've used it on my last several family trips... but NOT on my solo. I wish I had! It's funny... cause even though when I ran the numbers after the other trips...I just sorta broke even.... this time without it, it made me crazy to part with the cash for the TS meals!!

I love the convenience and you can always add a drink or appy OOP if you want it:goodvibes

I have a tendancy to call the WDW Cms alot too:goodvibes

HI Paula!!! I keep trying to find ways to fit meals in now!!! I think I finally have all my ADRs straight in my head and on paper, but we'll have to see!!! I too am actually glad that tips will be the only thing I really will have to worry about this trip and I've been hiding cash for those LOL!!

I'm glad that I could be of service! The coats that we have right now are pretty FABULOUS!!! You also can't go wrong with 50% off. I'm trying to convince my DH that I need another coat. You see, I still get my 20% discount too. Before we moved, I cleaned out the coat closet and donated a lot of my coats to Goodwill. I now only have one dressy coat and one casual coat. Living in Buffalo, you can NEVER have too many coats!!!!

    BTW, love the update!

Awesome chapters, Jen! :thumbsup2 Love the new clothes! Very nice! I could never wear shoes like that - weak ankles! Do you realize that you have only been on the DIS for 2months and you have posted almost 900 times! I think that might be some kind of record! :rotfl:

Yes, I'm finding that I love to coat shop!! I have a Gap Sweater jacket, a Gap denim jacket, and now this lovely Old Navy coat (which got a ton of compliments today). So I'm loving it!!!!

Yeah I realize that I'm a chatterbox...almost 900 posts..that is crazy...I'd say I need a break, but let's be realistic here...I'm not going anywhere LOL!!!! I'm not sure I'll be wearing those shoes when I come to see you by then I might have put my flip flops back on LOL!!!
