I actually have a lot of Disney music, especially the parks. I have a collection that was released in 2005 called
A Musical History of Disneyland released for the 50th Anniversary, which contains 6 discs filled with ride music. It has many of the rides in their entirety (like the Country Bear Jamboree, Enchanted Tiki Room, Haunted Manion, America Sings, Carousel of Progress, and many others) and is among the most spectacular collection Disney has ever released. Sadly, it has gone out of print so I was lucky to get it. I plan to create some playlists to listen to on my drive down to Orlando and then back and forth to the parks. I love the whole immersion thing. LOL.
I will probably zone people out while there, and do most rides. I cannot let people dictate my park enjoyment and I venture to say no one will really care. People have become more and more self-absorbed these days to notice much around them. I also have dinner reservations in various places and I will make sure to be fine dining alone. I will do even more, because I write a
blog about being an introvert going solo to Disney and I plan to post thoroughly about every detail. I have heard from people who have read the posts and have decided to go to Disney alone because of it, which has made me feel really good about helping others. One person even said she never knew she was an introvert and always felt there was something wrong with her, until she read my blog and figured out she was perfectly OK. I will think of all those people when I am at the park and hope to report back fantastic stories.
I even booked one night of
Mickey-Not-So-Scary Halloween. Being a solo introvert at the park, that pushed me WAY out of my comfort zone, but I HAD to do it and will blog about it. It will be, at the very least, interesting and an experience I felt I should go through. Plus I can then stay in the MK that day until midnight. I will wing it with the parades except the
Main Street Electrical parade, which is a must for me every time. I will catch it twice while I am there. It was my first Disney parade when I was there in 1980 as a 12 year old and has been my favorite since. When it made a comeback, I was in heaven. I avoid daytime parades and take advantage of shorter ride lines. Also, the Halloween thing will be great because while people stand in line for hours to do character meet and get pounds upon pounds of candy, I will hit the rides and also take in the beauty of the park decked out for Halloween and avoid the sugar coma. I am not a candy eater and I am not much into character meets, but I have seen images of the park lit for Halloween and it looks beautiful and a sight I should take in. It will also be fun to people watch that evening! I love watching people be silly, let go and have a great time. And that is, after all, why we all go to Disney, right?
