We stayed at Pop in the 50's building in 2010 with a room facing the bowling pin pool on the third floor. The room was functional and the staff was friendly. I think we ate at the food court once during that trip. The biggest problem was the room was FAR. At the end of the day we were pushing two strollers and it was hot and humid (much more so than normal for that time of year) and it was a bit of a beatdown. We said next time we'll pop the extra $100 or so for a preferred room.
In 2012 AoA LM opened and we were fortunate enough to get a room the week of Thanksgiving. The room was slightly bigger than Pop but because it was new it was a bit nicer. The pools, decor and theming at AoA was outstanding. The room at AoA was much closer, despite us being at the furthest building (Ariel) and the walk through the Lion King section made it feel like it wasn't far at all. We routinely went to the Food Court for drinks and food and enjoyed it quite a bit.
When we planned this year's trip my wife and I immediately went back to booking at AoA LM. Due to a friend joining us we've upgraded to a suite, but we were looking forward to the LM rooms again.
