i'm a band-aid for the marching band.
(band aid is where i don't play an instrument, but i travel with them. i help them get dressed. i am a prop in the show, i basically do whatever needs to be done to get the show going.)
its a tradition that homecoming is played with alumni and up and coming and current musicians.
this is our high school cymbalist (steven) and the middle school cymbalist (jake)
and this is jake in steven's costume (steven is an actor rather than a musician in our show)
i mostly assist the drum line. (hello, if you had a 40lb drum on your stomach you'd need help with your jacket too) so i spent all of the homecoming game helping jake play cymbals (i can play cymbals. he had some crashers, so steven took the smaller crash and gave him his large ones. they were really heavy so i was helping him hold them steady for the drummers to bang on them)
jake spent basically the whole game sitting with me and talking to me. (he had such a huge crush on me. haha) and he was basically the most adorable little kid i've ever met. he was asking me all these questions about high school and stuff. (hes in seventh grade and i'm a senior)
it was just the cutest thing ever. he came up and gave me this big hug after the game, during the band meeting.
