Simple Disney Things.

Tinsel Christmas decorations at DHS.
Kids TV area at check-in.
Putting on our lanyards as we drive up.
Mickey shaped electrical pole. See you real soon!
When the train drives up for the opening show, tears.
The smell in the air - everywhere on property.
Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

Being a kid again... and soaking up the magic with my family

I love this one, and I loved the PP's where she enjoyed watching her granddaughter and her saying "she IS real," and the One Republic song observation...it too transports me to that magical place every time (but I can't figure out how to do multiple quotes!!

My things would be:
that walk down an almost empty Main Street for early CP reservation
Wishes (gets me every time!!)

The smells of Spaceship Earth :)
Finally getting on Peter Pan after waiting in line

Just walking down Main St in the morning... Man I love doing that... It's what I keep remembering when I daydream about Disney.

Being called Princess by a CM, even though I'm 31 years old. princess:

The moment the lights go out right before Wishes or Illuminations.

The sparkling fairy lights in the trees near the Castle.

Arriving at EPCOT by monorail--it's the way everyone should arrive on their first visit.

Feeling my own eyes light up like a child as the MSEP goes by--and seeing the same look of awe reflected in my son's face.

Chance encounters with characters as they are in transit. I don't do formal character meets, but I do love those spontaneous run-ins.

After the fireworks, when the crowds are still pushing onto ferries and monorails and trams, walking through a subdued Epcot or Magic Kingdom, enjoying the lights and the company of my family and feeling as though the whole place is ours.

That fantastic water-ride smell.

Walking through the Poly on the way to ride the monorail to the MK

Being at a park for Rope Drop - especially the MK

Walking down Main Street when the park first opens

Mickey shaped ice cream and dole whips

Driving on the property for the first time after arriving

-Soaking in Main Street, USA and feeling transported to a simpler time

-First glimpse of the castle

-"Welcome, foolish mortals!"

-Taking an afternoon train ride to slow down for a bit

-My kids insisting we have to eat at CP the first morning even though they will be 7yo on our next trip. They are just as sentimental as I am. :)

I tried to think of the little things that stuck out to me on our very first trip... at least most of these are from our first trip.

  • All the big white Mickey hands waving to you walking down Main Street when the park opens.
  • Hearing the music to the “Celebrate a Dream Come True” parade as it passes by
  • The convenience of the buses. I feel like I’m at one HUGE all inclusive when vacationing at WDW.
  • Hearing that soft whir and looking up as the monorail passes overhead at Epcot
  • The smell of oranges on Soarin’
  • The shrimp and steak at ‘Ohanas
  • Watching ‘DiVine’ at AK.
  • The lobby of the Grand Floridian (wow!)
  • Standing on the beach by the Beach Club lagoon area facing the Boardwalk. Awesome view.
  • The feel of old Hollywood at HS and the street performers.
  • Relaxing and having a beer while waiting for Fantasmic to start.
  • Answering my daughter, “Yes, that is real fire” (to her amazement) as the lagoon bursts into flames the first time we saw Fantasmic.
  • Seeing the bubbles floating down during the Finding Nemo musical
  • The starry night scene during Spaceship Earth
  • The dip in the pool at night after a day in the parks.
  • While not a little thing… the full park opening show at MK. It got me misty eyed on our first stay, so surreal.
Most of all though, as I posted before, it’s being a kid again and enjoying the magic with my family.

pixiedust:pixiedust: and :goodvibes:goodvibes to all!

Dan

The purple road signs on property.

I'm not sure if many people notice these, but since we drive seeing the purple direction signs means that we are finally in disney! For that week we are no longer part of the real world, just enjoying the magic :D

ditto! you have entered the wonderful world of disney, i don't want to leave!

-when me, dh, and dd get in van to drive to dw.
-when we check in to resort and we have arrived

When the cast member hands me my KTTW card at check in.

Listening to the cast members at Le Cellier sing "O Canada" when the restaurant opens.

Taking a Mickey bar ice cream break while listening to Off Kilter.

Catching the cuckoo clock in the German Pavilion at the top of the hour.

Two weeks and counting....... :yay:

My personal ones are:
-eating Uncrustables
-Mr Disney Bus voice
-The monorail speech
-Walking down main street
-"Paging Mr Morrow. Mr Tom Morrow"
-

-Illuminations
-walking around the World Showcase after Illuminations
-Mickey gingerbread
-riding BTMRR at night
-wearing my minnie mouse ears

... Dapper Dans singing first thing in the morning
... the smell of the peanut brittle from the Confectionary
... music in DHS on Hollywood Blvd.
... the sounds of Indiana Jones and Lights Motor Action in the distance as we head over to TSM
... Future World at night with the gorgeous Spaceship Earth in it's blue and purple glory
... the sparkly sidewalks in Future World
... my DD singing the "celebrate you" song when we pass under the main road sign, then we all have to answer with the "oh oh, oh oh" (come on, you can sing with us :rotfl:)

Whenever I call the reservations line I'm always thinking 'Have a magical day. So stupid.' But then at the end of the call when that perky CM actually tells me 'Have a magical rest of your day' it just hits me right in the feelings and I think, 'ya know what? I think I will. Thank you.'
