Hey - look what I found in my attic this morning. My mom had saved it and given it to me years ago (before I was as Dis-obsessed as I am now) but I was thrilled to stumble upon it today:

I won't even tell y'all how long it took me to figure out how to scan it in in a format that would work. :sad2:

Regardless, I thought it was pretty cool! While FW only gets one page (page 25), I loved the picture with the train. Unfortunately I never experienced FW until it was long gone.

Thought y'all might enjoy it. Have a good Friday!

Looks like on the first page it says 1978. I just had to look closer.

What's really sad is that hot blonde on page 20 is old now.

I looked up the 2 movies "the cat from outer space" and "hot lead cold feet" did both came out in 1978.

Jungle Book must have been in re-release.

Thanks for sharing. Can you read what # the engine on the train is? It will be right under the engineers window in red.

What a cool trip down amnesia lane!! Thanks. 1978 was the first trip for me and I vaguely remember this booklet. Oh, the WDW of my youth.

I'm looking as hard as I can, but it's still pretty blurry even looking at the brochure in person. It could be a 2, but I can't say for sure.

Okay, now I have a question about this for y'all: In looking more closely at the map on pages 14-15, I noticed something called the "Mile Long Bar" in Frontierland. It's sandwiched between Country Bear Jamboree and Peco's Bill's. What was the Mile Long Bar? I've always heard that the MK has never served alcohol, but I'm having a hard time guessing what a place designated as a Restaurant/Snack Center would be with that name if not a bar...

    Anyone remember?

Is that Frank and Deni at the top of page 25?

Thanks for trying. I'm always on the lookout for a picture of Engine #4. It's amazing how tough it is to find one. There's a video on YouTube with good ol Engine 4, but haven't found a nice photo.....yet.

    Thanks again.

The mile long bar wasn't a bar as in serving drinks. It's got it's name because of mirrors at each end of the counter making it look like a "mile long". Pepsi was the original sponser of the Country Bears, and the bar is where peco's serving area is now. Peco's used to be a lot smaller with only outdoor seating. Above the bar, there were Max, Melvin, and Buff carrying on from the show.

Sometime in the late early 80's is when coke got it's contract with Disney to be it's sole provider of drinks. Up until that time Coke and Pepsi products were served on site.

I remember the mile long bar, must have been one of the trips with my parents in the late 70s. Thanks for sharing.

I have to go see if I can find the information my MIL found recently when clearing out things from the house. She came across some pamphlets from an earlier WDW trip, including the ticket prices. I remember being amazed the difference in $$ for a visit.

    Off to search now....
