Were a party of 4 adults, thinking of trying either Mickeys BBQ or the Spirit of Aloha.

Whats the seating arrangements? Do they have tables for a party of 4 or will we be seated with other groups?

We just went to BBQ last week. It's a big outdoor pavillion, with long aisles of picnic tables. You walk in and choose where you would like to sit, and then help yourself to the buffet. It's not assigned seating.

Our kids loved it, it's alot of dancing with the characters and the food was good...ribs, cornbread, beans, etc. I was pleasantly surprised by the food.

If you have time, go early and walk around Fort Wilderness campground a little...

1) BBQ has general seating, and you sit with other families at a big table.
. . . folks can sit across from you
. . . folks can sit to the left of you
. . . folks can sit to the right of you
2) Luau has assigned seating based upon WHEN you make your ressie call.

As the PP said, seating for the Luau is determined by the time of your ADR. There are 3 tiers, and only the 2nd and 3rd tier are available on the dining plan (free or not). The first tier is really the best, but some parts of the 2nd tier are almost as good as the first. The third tier doesn't have good views. At the Luau, the tables are usually rectangular and long, seating approximately 8-10 people....or that could just be my memory, since the last two times we've gone, there have been 7 and 10 of us!

BYBBQ has long picnic tables. Sit wherever you want. We had so much fun here.

The backyard BBQ is first come, first served so get there early for a good spot. The tables are all at the same level, so your view won't be too great from the back. Just beware of table poachers who will try very hard to move into your territory if you have a really good spot. We had it happen when we'd get up for food or to take pics. with the characters...they'd just try to shove our stuff over and take over.
