Has anyone's child used the SeaWorld Day Camp and if so, what was their experience? I am interested especially in the grade 4-5 series but I would like to hear about other age groups too. Does anyone have a promotional code for July 2008?

I don't know about the daycamp, but I take a group of 3rd & 4th graders to Sea World every Year. This year we had 6 charter buses with nearly 350 folks ( students and chaperones). It was an awesome experience for us all. The SW staff is great, they will go out of their way to make sure that you get as much as possible out of your day. :teacher:

My DD(12) is signed up for the 6th-8th grade career camp for the week of July 14 and her friend(10) is doing the 4th and 5th grade walk on the wild sidecamp. We have never been , but they are so excited!

My kids went last summer and they will be going again this summer. They loved it. Really well run. My son will be doing the Walk on the Wild Side camp in August.

I went to the Adv. Career camp (for highschoolers) for the past two years, it was the best time of my life. Im hoping to be a counselor withing the next couple of years.
We always saw the little kids walking around or doing activities in the pavilion. They all seemed to truly enjoy it and it was always managed really well. Lots of staff to help the kids and keep them safe

Many years ago, when I was in elementary school (so we're talking almost 20 years now), I went to Sea World daycamps and overnight camps every summer. They may have different programs these days, but I /always/ enjoyed them.

At least from my experience (of around 20 years ago), the most fun were the sleepover camps. They usually involved educational games and projects during the day, along with the chance to go through the parks and also see backstage areas... then you'd break out the sleeping bags inside one of the exhibits (when I did them, they offered them at the Manatees, Penguins, and I even once did a sleepover at the "Dino Marsh" or whatever that they had briefly).

I can't say for certain that things are the same as they were then, but from my own experiences as a science-minded kid, I think they were well worth it!

=)

Hi , Does anyone know if you must drop the students off at SEAWORLD? Or if they have hotel pick up? We will be there in AUgust, and my daughter too will be going the week of Aug 11 , Walk on the Wild side.

IS it safe? Are the kids under a watchful eye?

When I was a kid and going to those camps, after you go through the parking toll booths they would direct Camp traffic down to a separate parking area (near Ports of Call). Then parents could escort kids to the camper area (I just got dropped off after the first couple summers of going round) and meet up with the counselors. We were /always/ looked after in a first rate sorta way. Very safe. The groups were generally pretty small, with a generous of counselor-to-camper ratio.

Granted, these are opinions formed from 18-20 years ago when I was an elementary school age camper. But I imagine they should be comparable now as well. =)

You must drop your child off... sign them in and sign them out. They keep a very good eye on the children. They must wear their camp t-shirt everyday.. a very bright yellow. I think this helps them keep an eye out for the kids. Thank goodness for timeshares and a washer/dryer. I believe that this is now an annual thing for my kids: they both love it.
