UPDATE:
It has been confirmed by several sources, including the OC Register (with a quote from a Disneyland Spokesperson) that prices will be increasing tomorrow. Below is a list of new prices.

A few notes:
  • The annual parking pass is available for renewals only, but not new purchases. If you already have parking on your pass and you renew on time, you can renew the parking.
  • The Southern California annual pass is once again offered for renewals only for those who already have the pass and renew on time. No new purchases are offered.
IF YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS TONIGHT, THEY ARE VALID UNTIL 12/31/15, AND THEIR VALUE WILL NOT EXPIRE IF YOU DO NOT GET AROUND TO USING THEM - YOU CAN APPLY PURCHASE PRICE TOWARDS NEW PRICE IN THE FUTURE.

ORIGINAL POST:

Earlier today, I went to my Disney Store to get four-day parkhoppers for our trip in March. They were out of them, and I was told they could not order any more of the four-day tickets (or 5/AP's), as they are showing as 'unavailable' from Disney. They are able to buy limited amounts of two-day and three-day tickets, but could not buy in the bulk they normally do.

This was direct from the manager. She says that when Disney does this, it usually means a price increase is right around the corner. (This happens yearly, keep in mind.) She hinted that I may want to get my tickets as soon as possible to lock in my rates.

This doesn't make sense with the So-Cal special currently going on, and I know this is just a rumor, but just thought it should be shared, so people can buy their tickets in the chance it does happen.

We are buying annual passes this year but our trip isn't for 3 more months. Does our year start when we first visit or when we purchase the passes online?

Assuming your purchase it through Disneyland.com, you'll actually be getting a voucher for an AP. You take that with you to the park and "exchange" it for the real AP. The AP will have an expiration date based on the date you first get the "real" AP.

I agree that this would be an odd time for a price increase. They've usually happened just before or just at the start of the summer season for the last few years (May/June), which makes sense to me. I was kind of guessing that we'd see an increase just before the 60th anniversary events/activities kicked off this year.

Thanks for the info! Have a trip in the works for October - might purchase tickets sooner rather than later :)

I'm still guessing we'll see the increase in May/June. Or at least thats what I'm hoping. Our AP's expire the 2nd week of June so I'm hoping we get our renewal notice before the increase happens anyway.

Other mentions of price increases are popping up as well. Screamscape is reporting that prices of 1-Day passes will increase to $99 for adults, and premium passes will rise to $779 from $699 - within the next two weeks.

Does anyone think this will actually happen in the next few weeks? I can definitely see increases happening in May, but right now the timing just seems off. There are so many refurbs and preparations for the 60th right now which is putting a lot of people off, plus the bad PR over the measles outbreak I'm sure is not helping matters.

I suppose if this is really going to happen then we will hear more about it and hopefully get a few days notice so I can buy my AP before the increase!!!!

My initial reaction is that there was no way they would do this now, as at a glance May makes sense. But after thinking about it, I am inclined to think they will do it now because if they do, they will beat the rush, especially with people buying APs for the 60th. All of the people booking packages for the summer months will most likely have everything booked and paid for by May. If they raise all of the prices now, or in the next week or 2 they will basically make out like a bandit on all of those tourist bookings, as well as cash out on all of the people that are gonna get APs for the 60th. It seems like it is the perfect time for them to raise prices, at least from a business sense. The fact that they have a SoCal promotion going on right now will draw in locals during the next few months of Refurbs. Last year the park was insanely packed for most of April and May which was the last 2 months of the Socal promotion. With all of the refurbs going on, the park is going to seem way more crowded than it should. Raising prices now may thin out some of that crowd.

Following this. We're planning on going in October but if prices are going up soon, I'm buying tickets asap

From what I have noticed, Disney normally increases ticket prices in May. But what Superlarz said definitely makes sense. On January 28, Disney will be "unveiling" what they have planned for the Diamond Celebration, so maybe they will announce price increases soon after this. :(

hmmm well after reading this now I'm afraid you all might be right. Oh well at least we just got DS his AP and I have a 4 day hopper for DH for our June trip. DD and I will just have to renew at the higher rate if they do in fact raise the prices earlier than normal this year. Fingers crossed they don't raise the deluxe AP's too much!

Don't know if this means anything but the AAA website lists the price on their tickets as good through 03/31/15. Tickets good through 12/31/15.

I thought the price increases were becoming much less predictable and happened whenever Disney feels like it (lol). I went ahead and purchased mine today.

Well, looks like all signs are pointing to me buying my Deluxe AP this weekend!

Guess im going to have to buy mine before the 28th for our trip in April just to be safe.

How big of a price increase is typical? I'm looking at 5-day hoppers.

The word on the WDW side of the board is that prices will increase on both coasts in mid-February.

Well, poop! I guess I will be taking my family to get our APs in the next couple of weeks. Was going to wait until after President's Day. Oh well. Let's just hope they don't raise the prices on the 28th. Gotta get my paycheck first.
