Round 2 Adventures of the 2013 Disney Moms Panel Search

Bonus Question: Which celebrities have you seen or met in the parks?
Samantha Brown, Stacy Aswad (WDW Top 7-very sweet in person), George Lucas, Bob Iger, Stars Wars too numerous - But I adore Ashley Eckstein, and President Obama (January 2012).

I was in WDW when Obama was there in January too - we didn't see him though.

Several years back I saw Andy Dick - we were in line for Dinosaur and he and two women were escorted through the line.

Also saw Sabrina Soto from HGTV, but it was the Flower & Garden show this past March, so not a surprise to see her!

That's funny! I made sure to wear all my Mickey jewellery today, too! Necklace, ring, watch, earrings, bracelet - check, check, check, check, and check!!
This is hilarious! I did the same thing! It is funny...in past years I have applied and never thought I would make it, so no real disappointment when I didn't. This year is different; somehow I feel like this is my year! Oh well, a little wishing never hurt anyone!
You know, the day that I found out I was accepted into the Disney College Program, I woke up, put on my open Disney jewelry, and headed up to campus to check my mail before class. My acceptance packet was waiting for me. Perhaps there is something to the idea of Disney jewelry bringing luck.:goodvibes

There is a new movie coming out around Thanksgiving called Rise of the Guardians which is supposed to be about the immortals. My DD already put that on the list of holiday movies she wants to see.

I haven't seen the previews for this yet, but just this morning we got an email for the children's holiday movie party - which is going to be Rise of the Guardians. Do you think it's appropriate for a 5 year old?

I still think Saturday is the day and it will open up on Monday. :confused3

Luckily yesterday I had a field trip to the Pumpkin Farm to keep me busy. You know so I only checked every 1/2 hour or so. :rotfl2:

Here is the good news in not knowing yet....we all are still in the running and still have a chance :goodvibes :cheer2: pixiedust:

I think it looks scary for a 5 year old. I have an almost 4 year old and I wouldn't feel comfortable letting him watch it but that's me.

Deep breaths, everyone!!

Sprinkling a little bit of pixiedust: and wishing you all LOTS and LOTS of luck with Round 2! This family is so magical and I look forward to (hopefully) welcoming some of you to it in December.

Remember, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

I love Disney Mom Panel Members stopping by to sprinkle dust!! Thanks! Hoping to join the Moms Panel family!

No news is good news,no news is good news.... This is becoming my mantra lol
Well I got a small WDW fix today I went with my aunt to collect her WDW tickets they fly out in 12 days..... Was exciting ;0)

The only celebrity I've seen at WDW is "The Rock". I was standing in line for our picture with Cinderella at CRT, and I kept thinking WOW...this guy in front of me sure is tall (my eye level was at his waist!). Once I realized who he was , I debated whether or not to talk to him, but decided to leave him alone since he was with his daughter. Slowly, kids started asking him to sign their Disney autograph books. His attendant asked him if he would like to move to the front of the line since people were starting to approach him, but he said no. He seemed really nice and I kicked myself for not talking to him!

I like him...and now even more so as he seems to want to experience life as it happens and have his daughter do the same. (he's pretty easy on the eyes, too! ;) )

Remember, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

Thanks for this...and for dropping in with words of encouragement. :flower3:

Well, I am just checking in on my lunch break...I see there is no news yet and I'm thinking maybe Saturday is the day, as others are speculating. Sure hope it's soon!

My distraction for last night was a parent council meeting at my son's school...it was nice to meet the council moms and to get involved. DS just started grade nine, so it's nice to know I can make an impact over the next four years. Tonight my distraction is parent-teacher interviews...DS seems to be doing very well, so I'm looking forward to positive comments! Need to make some contingency plans for tomorrow, just in case R2 notices don't come out by then.

As for villian, I enjoyed meeting Malificent and boy did she creep my out! :scared:

Coming out of lurker land to join in the fun...WOW, the excitement is really building...can't wait to see who gets to live the dream this year!! :cheer2: I have the urge to get my Disney jewelry on now...:thumbsup2

Favorite Villian: I love the Mad Madam Mim...her battle with Merlin is the best!!

Sightings of the Famous: My favorite brush with the famous has to be attending the 2011 D23 at WDW...seeing Richard Sherman and the Dreamfinder, and all those amazing past and current Imagineers!! That was pure Disney Heaven!! :goodvibes

I'm loving all the well wishes from the panelists...that's some good pixie dust!! pixiedust:

Hi Everybody! I'm going crazy along with the rest of you...trying desperately to get on with my week without jumping each time my phone makes that 'beep' sound. Part of me thinks we will hear tomorrow and the ones that move on will have until the 15th to do it. The other part of me thinks we will hear sometime by the end of this weekend (like Monday) and have until Friday to get everything in. That scenario doesn't leave the powers that be very much time to choose those who will make it to Round 3 and schedule interviews before the 12th though...

Does anyone know how many applicants they allowed last year vs. this year? I remember someone saying that this year was less but I can't remember for sure.

I have a famous sighting to share!

We were at California Adventure in 2008 and got to ride the TOT with one of the actresses from Knocked Up. I can't remember her name at the moment, but it was really cool being on the ride with her. Of course, when we went to buy the ride photo, they told us the camera was broken. LOL

Hope everyone is have a wonderful day! :)

I believe last year it was 20,000 and this year it was 14,000. :goodvibes

The suspense is killing me! And Disney keeps sending me all these other emails!
I am trying to distract myself by planning our trips for next year. It is NOT helping! I am so tempted to put up my Disney Christmas Tree and decorations! I know, I am crazy. I should probably bring out my Disney Halloween stuff though.

Just going off track a bit taking my mind off the lack of an email. Does anyone know which places in WDW sell a blue martini. My aunt is wanting one while she is there lol

Others on this board: If you haven't read Kaylene's blog, you must check it out. I discovered it this time last year and poured over the posts regarding her Mom's Panel training trip. It's a great way to pass time while we wait!! Her blog link is at the bottom of her post. :surfweb:
