Roll Call for the Disney Magic Western Carrib. Jan 28/2006

Hi Sara,

My DS will be 14 on 2/6...again, small world... :rolleyes1 (it's a small world after all, it's a small world after all...yeah, you know the rest...) Sorry, couldn't resist :goodvibes

HI
We are a group of 11 (maybe 13) and we have 4 boys- ages 11,10,9,and 8 and a 5 year old girl.(only 2 boys and the girl are mine :rotfl: ) I am so excited that I can hardly sleep-
What is everyone doing in Nassau? I am so disappointed about that change. My DH doesn't want to do the comfort suites/Atlantis thing because he thinks it is too costly. We may just stay on the ship and enjoy the down time ( we have done Nassau about 5 times).
I don't post often but I lurk daily...Can't wait to meet everyone !!!

Tracey

:wave2: Hi Kim-We are a family of 4 and I have 2 daughters...a boy crazy 12 yr old and a just plain crazy 3 1/2 yr old! We are from Pinckney, MI. We are staying at the Radisson the night before and Disney 3 days after the cruise. It would be alot of fun to get the girls together! ~Barb~ princess:

Welcome Sara, Tracey (I remember seeing your posts awhile back) and Barb! I am going to pretend we are having a sea day when we are in Nassau. My friends are taking the Garden tour and I think my sister is going to the casino.

Sue

Hi Tracey and Barb, :wave2:

Nice to meet you! Jump right in with both feet! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We are doing Atlantis with Comfort Suites. :cool1: When I did my calculations, it wasn't much more than the Disney Atlantis Beach Day (we did that last time we cruised to Nassau). Both of my kids are priced as adults now(ouch) :scared: :faint: . I had an amazing excursion planned for Coz, so I needed to come up with something great for Nassau.

Now, if we end up at Costa Maya, Like the Dec 3rd cruise did, I'll be scrambling ::yes:: ...Waiting for the trip reports to see if they are changed again. Calling DCL again if that happens. They will have to have some idea at that point. At least Comfort suites will refund money if you cancel.
:teeth:

Just another reminder... :goodvibes

We are still open to new ideas for the phrase for the wristbands (silicone, like the yellow LIVEstrong ones, only in DISBoard green). I'm already getting scrapbook ideas for these wristbands...gotta LOVE those lumpy pages!! (Have you seen the pictures of the "sea of green tee shirts" from the Turkey Day Cruise? Way too funny! :rotfl: )

So far we have:

MAGICal Cruise 1/28/06
DIS-MAGICal Cruise on one side, 1/28/06 on the other
MAGICal Cruise 1/28/06 on one side, DISBoards on the other

Any other ideas? We will have to vote, and I'll be sending in the order on 12/26/05.

Page 16, post #239 has the size info. Bands are still at "Anniversary Pricing" :flower: and are $1 each plus shipping. Please send me a Private Message with your slogan ideas, and sizes. This will be a great way for us to know each other while on the cruise! :disrocks: :thewave: :thewave:

Barb,

Cool! Girls like to travel in packs, I've noticed. My kids don't know about the cruise yet, well maybe DD10 suspects. It's a Christmas present. Right now I'm crossing my fingers that DD2 going on 3 before cruise will be potty trained before we leave. She does pretty well for a while, but there are still too many accidents and no progress on #2. She loves using the potty, but she sometimes gets too involved with what she's doing. She does ask to go to the bathroom while we're in public, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

Is there anyway to buy cruise credit/gift cards in advance for stocking stuffers? Several of my family members have been nice enough to coordinate their gifts with the cruise and have offered money for the kids to have spending money.

Thanks!

Getting Excited!

Kim

Hey ddavis- How about "The DIS rocks the Magic on 1/28/06"?
Just another one to add to the voting...
Tracey.

P.S. We have 20 inches of snow !!! :cold:

GREAT ONE!!! :cool1: :cheer2:

25 spaces and characters total on each side...so it would have to be 2 sided.

"The DIS Rocks the Magic" on one side, and 1/28/06 on the other...

That has 4 big votes...(changing my vote, cause I'm loving that one too  )... :disrocks:

We did okay today in the 'weather'. Slick outside now but not bad. I hope the '1/2" of ice' threat has passed us by!

Sue

Yeah, we did OK too. Of course I had to be out in the worst of the weather :cold: , and DH got behind a few accidents on his way home last night :earseek: , was over an hour late. My kids just kept saying..."What if this was all snow...." :scared1:

Morning Kim, :wave2:

I know you can get onboard credit through the same form you use for ordering "Stateroom Celebrations" under "My Cruise Gifts & Amenities". It is on the website, you can call the 800# or fax the order. I don't think they send you anything to the house though. I think there is an announcement you receive in your stateroom, and the credit is on their KTTW card. That reminds me, I have to call for the b-day for my son, and we are getting credits on their cards this time too...

How long does it usually take for the cruise packet to arrive? We booked last week and haven't received anything, yet. Are there activities on the ship while in port? The excursions all seem so expensive. I'm assuming we could just get off the ship and explore on our own at no extra cost. Anyone have a favorite book they use to help plan their cruise? When registering my children, it asks if my 3 year old is potty trained. She isn't yet, but I'm hoping she will be. Should I just wait to register her until she is, just in case she is successful before we leave?

Does KTTW mean Key to the world, as in room key for the cruise? Does each child get one?

Ack! I'm a planner and want to plan, but DH is a take it one day at a time kinda guy. This is all VERY new to me as I've never been on any kind of overnight cruise.

Is there a pacing icon? I need one. ;-)

Hi Kim :wave2:

I may be able to help with some of your questions. I'm a planner too :cloud9: . DH just lets me go, cause I'll drive him CRAZY :earseek: if I get him involved. Our first cruise was spur of the moment, and I didn't have time to plan anything. It was a learning experience. Just let me say, even though I didn't pre plan anything, we got to do everything we wanted except Palo dinner on that cruise.

Disney has made things so much easier now. I think the Palo ressies are gone for pre-booking, but you can go when you board and get your ressies. You can also get your spa ressies  in advance...so much easier than me running to the spa while DH ran to Palo as soon as we boarded. :moped: :moped:

In the past, the packet arrived about 2 weeks before sailing, Fed Ex, need to sign for them. All the docs are now available online (I'm told, I haven't tried that button yet).

There are a TON of activities all the time on the ship. There will be a "Personal Navigator" in your stateroom explaining everything for the next day. It tells you the dinner dress, parties, shows, drink of the day, character photo ops, and any gatherings or programs available. I bring a highlighter and mark off the things we are interested in (told you I'm a planner ;) ). The kids have their own Navigators too....

The excursions are expensive, and I have not booked any with Disney this trip, going for smaller sizes this time. You can get off the ship, and do your own thing. There is a talk onboard about shopping in the different ports, don't bother wasting time going, they repeat it on the TV so try to catch it there.

Yes, everyone gets a Key to the World card. They swipe you off and on the ship with it. They use it for charges on the ship, and at Castaway Cay. It also opens your little safe in the closet.

Not sure about the potty training thing...sorry can't help with that one. :teeth:

Here is the photo mat that I left at guest services for the characters to sign.
Did a shirt last time after one wash the signatures faded. Got the sticker that says "Disney Memories" at our A. C. Moore craft store.

Just a side thing... this is from another thread. It looks SO CUTE!!!! I'm using my Mike's coupon on that one this week!

Me too Sue,

I'm still trying to get the Christmas stuff organized and put out. Still have some shopping to do, and then wrapping it all :earseek: No packing for the cruise till Christmas is done...

But I'm still getting the door signs ready, and other non packing stuff....
