Renting a DVC - how do you get free dining?

We are going to rent a DVC studio from a reputable website (David's) in October or November.

This year, 2014, there are dates for free dining at WDW resorts in October and November.

Can a DVC renter, renting not from WDW, but from a reputable website (David's) also acquire the free dining being offered for the same dates in October and November?

:confused3 How do you go about getting the free dining, if it is available?
Call WDW?
Contact the reputable website (David's)?

Thanks :goodvibes

Free dining is never available for DVC point reservations, whether for a member, renter or guest. "Free" dining is only available with full price cash reservations.

You can add a dining plan to a DVC reservation by paying the regular dining plan price. You'd need to contact David's to do that for you, as it has to be added by the DVC owner.

You can't get free dining with a points reservation. You're renting the use of someone's timeshare, not making a hotel reservation.

Disney makes the free dining offer in order to entice people to book the hotel rooms that they own at full rack rate. The room inventory that's used for DVC points reservations is not owned by Disney, it's owned by DVC members. There's zero incentive for Disney to offer free dining on points reservations, as they have no way to recoup the costs.

We stayed at AKL last year by renting points from a DVC member. As others have said, you cannot get free dining when you are renting points, but you can still purchase a dining plan so you don't have to pay OOP of all of your meals when you are there.

Free dining requires a package through CRO with a full price room and 2 day tickets. You can get a DVC room through CRO to get the free dining. But be prepared to pay full price, not the rental price you are getting through David's. I priced it last year. A BWV studio was over $400 a night with tax to get the free dining. I could have got an AP discount of $285 a night but no dining. Through DVC, it was 15 points but no dining. So take your choice. You can't have both.

As others have stated here free dining isn't available for points reservations. It might be worth doing the math of how much it would cost to rent the points and pay for dining vs. making a cash reservation through Disney and getting the free dining.

The difference is that with free dining you are purchasing a stay from Disney. With "renting points", you are purchasing a stay from an individual, not Disney. If the individual offers a "come on" to book a stay with their points, they can offer anything they want. But I doubt they would offer anything at all for free.

Likewise, if you have a problem with your reservation, Disney won't get involved in the issue. You didn't purchase your stay from them.
