Rental Car for March Break $$$

I just booked our flights today and now looking at rental rates. WOW!
We've never paid such crazy rates. Last year was $181 total from National and they even gave us and our friends each a complimentary upgrade to a van.
Our dates are March 1st 5pm - 14th 5pm. I've tried coupons, codes, Id's of all sort through Mousesavers. Looking at $500.

Any suggestions??? We'll need two cars or one 8 passenger van.

You might try booking with Budget through the Southwest Airlines site. Click on specials, cars, and you'll get a discount code. You don't have to fly SW to get the deals. I got a compact car (two actually) for about $110 a week.

They both have plenty of Florida discounts.

Thank you very much "Laurabelle" for responding and for directing me to the National codes. Our party needed 2 cars for our March Break 14 day rental and the rates for a compact went down from $500+ to $343.07 including the supp. insurance etc.
