Remy final cost - would you share your experience?

I recognize that the final cost of Remy can vary WIDELY since folks can tip varying amounts, can order upcharge items like water, truffles and special meats, and that the cost of alcohol can be $0-$thousands...however, I am trying to get an idea of what I should budget...
we are just average wine drinkers and usually spend $50-80 per bottle in Palo, likely no mixed drinks...
we probably won't do the truffle experience

So, what ball park should I be in? $85+$85+tip+reasonable alcohol = ??? $400? $500? Your experience would be super helpful...

(by the way, I "get" that a couple could visit Remy for $170, drink nothing and add no tip but that's really not what I am going for...)
Thanks in advance...

Our cost was about $370 total. We shared a wine pairing, and they sold us two bottled waters for about $10 each.

Our bill last year was in the $400-$500 range with the Matsusaka and Cognac up charge, both of which we shared.

I think we were out of there for a bit under $400.00. Bottle of wine was about $60, we had a different wine with our red meat, about $40 for 2 glasses. Tip, plus we had some sort of fancy bottled water for around $15-2 bottles)-didn't realize that is what my husband had ordered. No other special meats/truffles ordered.

We did a B2B Caribbean last September and spent the following;
Remy Dinner $435.40
Palo - Brunch $20.00
Palo - Dining $203.85
Remy - Brunch $215.33 w/champagne
Palo - Glass Wine (Dinner) $91.30

The last entry was actually a bottle of wine at Palo dinner I think. Thank goodness our cruises next year are all on the Magic; no Remy to tempt us. :)

85$ x2 ... Only one bottle of wine since the Remy experience includes 1 drink (the Collette) 80$ + 50$ tip = 300$ for two.

I seem to remember each of us having a cognac at the Remy dinner which would have pushed it up a little.

I think we were close to $400 - did the wine pairings but no upcharge items. Fingers crossed, I can convince DH to go on the Fantasy later this year and will definitely do it again in addition to brunch.

We always get the wine package with dinner. And we use one of our bottles when we go to Palo. Does anyone know if we can do the same at Remy?

Your price paid can change radically when your hubby forgets his reading glasses, misreads the line across to the price and orders a $400 bottle of wine versus a $100 bottle. Good thing I won the $200 OBC at the DVC talk on the last night to bring the cost of that bottle down!

We learned the first time you need to read the menu carefully as some of the dishes/menu items have extra charges. I do not remember if that was Palo or Remy or maybe both. It is an amazing meal/experience though and you can easily minimize your costs without sacrificing the experience.

If you're not a drinker is it safe to assume $85/per + tip covers the dinner?
I think you'll need to be clear to your waiter that you want to avoid any item (including water) that has a charge...several people have posted they didn't know they ordered water with a cost...but I would think the waiter could accommodate your request

So how exactly does Remy work? Do you order or do they just bring dishes? I know you pay for the wine, but how does it make it up to$500 for 2 people? I'm just wondering because I am thinking of doing a cruise in October and would like to try Remy and want to get the lay of the land.

Dinner at Remy costs $85 per person to start with. Then the wine pairing is $105 per person. Of course, you can also purchase other wine than the pairing, and some of those are reallllly expensive.

$85 X 2 = $170
$105 X 2 = $210
$170 + $210 = $380
plus additional tip (if you wish)

just for a basic meal.

First full advice to your question.

There is an order off menu, but there is also a set meal, there are often two standard choices, there if you go with that the dishes will be given to you.

Now some advice, if you have an allergy or just do not like some foods, drop by Reny in advance and tell them.

On the times I gave gone there, I told them in advance ai do not eat seafood or fish, and I had my own set menu prepared for he personally in advance.

There is so much food, to have the full experience go with the set or prepared menu and not choose item by item.

I do not recommend the wine pairings the amounts given were small, I purchased a bottle of wine and then had standard drinks tea coffee etc.

It doesn't have to add up to $500, you can do it with tip, for say $250 half if that.

They are not pushy in my personal experience, follow advice from the people who have dinned at Remy.
