Question on 2 Park Unlimited Admission Ticket

    Our next trip is in Jan 2010. Plan on spending about 1-1/2 days/2 nights in Orlando area before a 3 day Disney cruise. We were in Disney for 5 days in October - did a lot, but there was also a lot we did not do. Disney's tickets are very high for either 1 or 2 days, especially with park hopper, in the parks - considering non-expiring tickets, but not sure when we will back again. Is Universal's 2 Park unlimited admission ticket just a special, or is this normally offered? Also if I purchase now, can it be used at any time thereafter - such as Jan. 2010. Thanks for any responses or suggestions.

    The ticket is usually available but the ticket prices are the special. The tickets are not activated until you enter the gate and they do not expire until you activate them at the gate. So you can buy them now and not use them until 2010 if you wanted.

    Do you know what the price of the ticket is normally without the "special" price?

    Sorry...no. I don't usually focus on the gate priced tickets since I have an AP. Someone else might know though.

    I know the $95 price is great (looks like that's a $25 savings according to the website), but with the economy in a tailspin, I gotta wonder if they will lower it even more? Then again the tickets is suh a small portion of a trip for those of us traveling from afar, so maybe the tix will stay the same and the hotels will just get cheaper to lure others into the parks?

    You can't buy the 7 day ticket at the gate. A one day/two park is around $90 plus tax at the gate.

    Do I need to leave "mailing" time if/when I purchase this ticket or will it be a print on-line ticket?

    You could either choose the print at home option or go with the electronic pickup option. Personally...I would go with the electronic pickup so you won't have to take a chance in misplacing the tickets on the way down. Electronic pickup is VERY easy to use at either park. You have to have the credit card used and confirmation # at the kiosk...but that's it. :thumbsup2

    So your ticket is a big sheet of paper right? I'll be curious to know when you return if you have to lug that big sheet of paper around the whole time, or will they "convert" it to a wallet size ticket? Please let me/us know when you return. If there is anyone out there with experience, let us know. I don't want to have to carry around three 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper for a week, but like the idea of already having them when we go?

    It sounds like you should do the electronic pickup option if you don't want to carry around the big sheets of paper. You don't have to wait in line to pick the tickets up...just go to the kiosk and the regular tickets will print out. It's very easy. Otherwise...you would have to wait in line at Guest Services for them to convert the tickets.

    Yep. Sounds like what I want. What a pain it would be to have to whip out big sheets of paper at all the express lines (since we are staying on-site). Thanks for the scoop!

    To use the express line, you show your room card. Every person that stays in your room receives a plastic room card with their name and age (adults just say A for adult). Each person needs to show their card to get into the express line.

    The big pieces of paper would just be shown to get into the park. Then you could put them away.

    The kiosk method to get a small ticket is very convenient, IMHO.

    yes, just scan your paper at the kiosk before going in and it prints out your individual tickets, also as stated above your room key is your express pass, very easy!

    If you do not want to carry around sheets of paper all week, DO NOT SELECT THE PRINT-AT-HOME option! :)

    Select Electronic Pickup and print out the small tickets on ticket stock at the kiosk at the park entrance.

    It is a waste of everyone's time to have those tickets reprinted as the smaller ticket stock when that is what you should have gotten in the first place if that is what you wanted.

    according to my local AAA pricing, regular pricing is $115.99, their price is $94.99

    i bought them thru AAA website last summer for around $70 & set 3 aside for when my PAP runs out as they don't expire

    since i've been tracking the ticket prices, seems as though U rolls out offers in the spring into summer...didn't see a BOGO year free AP last year, did have one that had to purchased by end of June '06:thumbsup2

    fyi, I was able to upgrade unused park tixs that i had bought toward price of PAP, not sure if it's still permissable or not:confused3
