Question about mnsshp

Basically, during those nights, do they start kicking people out at 7 except the people who bought the event passes? We already bought our tickets, but I'd hate to have not needed to buy them if they just let you stay in the parks

They definitely start kicking people out and they are strict about it. You also wouldn't be able to ride anything without a wristband.

yea basically...but there are straglers..you wont get on any rides or get food without one.......and if you see someone without a band you need to notify someone as ive done many times...

Ahh ok. Are the parks still packed or does a good chunk of people leave making the viewing areas for the parade and fireworks better?

It really depends on what night you go. We have only been to parties in September. Some were more crowded than others but rides have usually been walk on, and we usually get a good spot for the parade 30 minutes before it starts.

We have done both MNSSHP and MVMCP. We found that all of the rides were walk on for both events. As far as parades, the later one was MUCH less crowded and easier to get a good viewing place closer to the start of the parade.

How do you tackle mnsshp? Is the parade at 8 and fireworks at 9? We want to trick or treat but we want to ride some rides too

The parade is at 8:15 and 10:30 and the fireworks are at 9:30. It's always recommended to see the second parade.

Parade is twice at 8:15p and 10:30p. HalloWishes is at 9:30p. Riding rides will take the least of your time, party activities--particularly meeting certain characters--are where the time-sucks are. Almost universal advice is to attend the second parade if possible, it's typically less crowded. Any trick or treat lines I've ever done never took more than 5-7 minutes, though some may look long. They move fast.

We were having dinner one time at Cosmic Rays and a manager came around to the tables at 7:00 and was checking everyone for wristbands (we had them).

OP, I hope you don't mind my asking a question on your thread...

I understand about going to the 2nd parade, which is doable for us as DD is older. My question is, if we want to watch HalloWishes from Main Street/the hub area, won't all the people who found a spot there for the FIRST parade just still stay at their spot till after the fireworks? How can I skip the first parade and still get any halfway decent spot for HalloWishes?

Hope that makes sense and someone has some insight. Can't figure this one out!

We got out of BOG at about 7:15 on the day of the last Christmas party last year. I had made the reservation early knowing that at 7 they might not let us in. We had a personal escort out of the park! I felt like a criminal the way some people looked at me but they were happy to let us pass!! :cool1:

People who are watching the parade from Main Street are sitting on the curb or standing behind the people sitting on the curb. That's really not the best vantage point for seeing the castle (which the fireworks are centered around), so I think most people move into the street to watch Wishes (or HalloWishes or Holiday Wishes as the case may be).

:thumbsup2

I really don't think it's that hard to find a spot around the Hub to view the fireworks, even after a parade. Everyone is looking mostly up. There is more room in the Hub for fireworks than there is for parades because the street is free too, as siskaren mentioned.

Wow. There's a lot to take in. Might have to do the trick or treating for the first half hour then stake out a spot before the parade. Do they usher people out right at midnight?

One thing to know is Main Street and the hub will be wall-to-wall people from just before the first parade through the fireworks. So if you are skipping the first parade, do your best to get wherever you're going before the parade starts.

The second parade usually has far fewer people.

Pretty much. Unlike normal nights, most everything--including the stores--start closing up right at midnight.

If you have a group that can go to midnight, again I highly recommend going to the second parade.

That's what I was thinking - couldn't figure out how I was going to squish onto the hub if all those 1st-parade-goers just fill it in as soon as their parade is over. I'm sure I'm overthinking it. As I like to do! :)

We usually save trick or treating for the end of the evening when the lines are not as long and that way we don't have to carry candy around all evening.

I believe it's a fairly hard close at midnight. Unlike regular evenings I don't recall the stores being open for an additional hour so if you are planning to purchase party specific merchandise, do it earlier.

If you are planning to do any meet and greets for the rare characters (Jack and Sally, 7 Dwarfs, Princesses with their Princes) the lines start around 5:30-6:00 to reduce time in line during the party.

Basically we are going to get our shopping done during the day and hopefully get fast passes for a little later in the day. I'm just afraid if we wait for the second parade, that we will not get a good spot for hallowishes

But if we get a good viewing area for that, I would not mind doing the second parade
