I attended a wedding last weekend where both the mother and father walked the bride down the aisle. It made for a great photo of all three of them entering! The parents are divorced and no one thought it was odd that they were escorting her together since they created her together. Granted, neither of them are remarried.
Then, she had both her parents stand up there with her as well as her brother and her nieces.
On the groom's side, he entered escorting his mom (his dad has passed away). She stayed up at the alter with him, and he had his brother, best man, niece and nephew up there with him. It sounds like a lot of people, but it looked really neat to have all the immediate blood family for both the bride and groom up there.
I plan to have both my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. My dad is remarried, so I have to figure out the logistics of who escorts my stepmom.
