Pre-purchasing Restaurant Gift Cards for WDW

My money saving idea is to pre-purchase gift cards for chain restaurants before we go to disney at grocery stores that have fuel perks and at Lowes Hardware where DH gets a 10% military discount. We buy these a few here and there when we can afford them so there isn't such a big chunk OOP all at once.

Can someone helpme with chain restaurants that are in the Orlando area that you can buy gift cards for?? We are staying off site. TIA!!

Also, where can I get a disney gift card to use in shops at WDW for the kiddos?

My grocery stores also sell the disney gift cards... I usually pick up one a week for $25 and put it into my grocery budget. they can be used on just about anything there.. I usually just charge everything to my room and then pay off the "extras" with my gift cards. Staying off site you can use them as you go.

If your grocery store does not sell disney gift cards, you can get them at the disney stores or order them online on the disney store site I believe.

As for restaurants. I would suggest going online and checking the websites for the restaurants you like to see if they are local. For example I know my local store sells "olive garden" if you and your family like them, check it out and see if they have one local to WDW. I do know there is a cracker barrel near by. I'm sure there's probably one of whatever place your gift cards could be for near by. good luck!

It really depends on where you are staying and what food places you enjoy. Typically we stay in Celebration or Main-gate west. This would be on 192 west of I4/World drive. There are many choices in that area. Also I have noticed many restaurants have multiple locations thru-out the area. List from the top of my head is I-HOP, Denny's, Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Shoney's, Bob Evans, Sizzler, Texas Road House, Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Golden Corral, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King, Outback, Cracker Barrel, Carrabba's Italian, Chick-fil-a, Longhorn, Bahama Breeze. Really depends on what you like...some of these are from the same chain so you could get Olive Garden gift cards and use them at say Longhorn if you wanted. If you google your hotel/condo address it should show the restaurants in the area. Best of luck!!

Personal opinion on Disney gift cards is to get them at Target and use your Target red card for 5% off, unless you can find them discounted some where this is usually the best deal.

There is a Wolfgang Puck in DTD. Also, if you sign up for the Levy preffered card (http://www.levyrestaurants.com/loyalty-cards/), after you spend $250 (which is really $200 if you bought cards at a discount), you can add $25 reward dollars directly onto your preferred card. You can redeem the reward dollars online and use them at Pucks, Fultons Crab House or Portobello in DTD. The rewards post pretty quickly so you can use them in the same trip.

You can also pick up Uno Chicago Grill gift cards from cardpool.com for 20% off: http://www.cardpool.com/buy/uno-chicago-grill-gift-cards. There is an Uno just off disney property (just under a mile from DTD).

They are out of stock right now, but I've also bought landry gift cards for 11% off at cardpool and those can be used at Rainforest Cafe, Trex, and Yak & Yeti.

We always try to buy cards that are accepted at multiple chains... Darden (Red Lobster, Olive Garden,etc), Chilis/Macaroni Grill, Outback/Carrabas.

We also get Chick-fil-a (none around here, but Target sells them) and a McDonalds card for DD. We also get Target cards for buying groceries and if McDonalds is selling the $1 kids coupon books (Easter, Hallowee, Valentines, etc) I get those. They even take those coupons in the airport!

Are you near a Kroger? They carry Disney cards and right now they are having a promo that Cracker Barrel cards give you 4x the fuel points (other gift cards are 2x).

I ordered the Entertainment book for Orlando and just got it today. I paid 9.99 with free ship and it's well worth the $. There was a $5/$20 for Trex and RFC, coupons for Pizza Hut, Giordano's (sp?), Uno's, and lots of other restaurants!!
