Points for Concierge Collection

I know that the points per nite cannot be changed for the Disney Collection. Is that also true for the Concierge Collection? If it is, can Disney eliminate some of them in the future because of the rising costs? We love to go to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri and it seems as the prices increase we're going to be getting a pretty good deal! :D

Disney can and does change the Concierge Collection chart every year. They can add properties, remove properties, change the points per night, adjust the seasons for a given property -- or even eliminate the program entirely.

As DVC members, we have a real estate interest in our home resorts. But Concierge Collection simply represents negotiated business relationships between Disney and the other hospitality providers. For example, when you spend points on a Concierge Collection hotel, Disney rents the accomodations for you at a negotiated rate; Disney then recovers the money (or recovers the money and a profit) by turning over DVC intentory to CRO equivalent to the points you spent, and CRO rents the DVC accomodations to paying guests. If, for some reason, CRO doesn't rent out the accomodations, then Disney takes a loss on that transaction. But , undoubtedly, all this is part of the overall business case for the Concierge Collection.

If a Concierge Collection hotel raises their published rates every year, chances are thay will also raise their negotiated rate with Disney. In that case, DVC adjusts the point chart for that Concierge Collection hotel -- or DVC can drop the hotel entirely if that's the better business decision.

Actually, the number of points for Disney Collection properties (such as the hotels at Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Resort in California, non-DVC properties at WDW, and Disney Cruise Line) can change.

At the DVC resorts, the number of points per night per season can be adjusted, but the total cannot change since the points represent a real estate interest in the properties.
