paying deposit on board booking with Disney gift cards

I am preparing my budget for our next cruise. We have been purchasing Disney gift cards to add to our account on the ship but I am not sure if we can pay our deposits of our on board bookings with them. I remember when we booked our last cruise, they asked for a credit card which wasn't the one we used for our account on board.

No, you can't. You have to make the initial deposit using a credit card. You can use gift cards to make installment payments. HTH!
