Parking on Check In Day

We are WDW vets, but this is my first on-site stay ever. I have a cheap off-site hotel for arrival night, but then I'm staying at AoA on our park days. I will have a rental car, so I want to take advantage of the free parking that comes with my AoA stay. I'm assuming I get parking on my check in day.

So my question is, we are going to AK at 8:00 AM on check in day. Do I need to swing by AoA and check in to activate my free parking? Can I just check in online and somehow use my magic band for parking? Or do I just pay for parking and then get it validated at AoA later that evening?

You're not considered an on site guest until you check in at AoA. You have 2 options:

1. Swing by AoA and check in which can be done as early as 6AM.

2. Pay for parking and then bring your receipt to AoA and they will reimburse
you when you check in.
