Paddlefish - Is It a Boat or an Office Block?

As the construction walls of Disney Springs Paddlefish come down, is anyone begining to think like me that it is looking less like a Paddle Steamer, and more like a waterfront office block?

Nothing wrong with that - but I would have thought they would have retained a bit of a stronger riverboat appearance.

I'll reserve final judgement until it's done, but as of now I wish they would have left the construction walls up. Yikes!

Our son's comment on Friday night when we went to Raglan Road ... "when did they get rid of the boat and build a normal restaurant?"

Pretty clear HE thinks it doesn't look like a boat .. he wasn't joking BTW honestly thought they had replaced it!

It doesn't look very steamboatish eh? I don't understand why they couldn't just keep the outer facade but give it a refresh inside and out ie paint etc. It just looks like a 'normal' restaurant as has been previously posted.

For those that aren't familiar with this venue, it never really was a "boat". Its original incarnation as the Empress Lilly was made to look like a boat with the pointed prow and the paddle wheel on the stern. But it was always just a building.

I like the design it looks like some of the cooler new house boats in Seattle. It's not done either. I think a fresh modern approach is needed. The old riverboat is dated. Also as stated above it's not really a boat...

Everyone has their own taste.

Having just seen the interior I have to add this update to my original post. Although i still think it doesn't look like a 'Paddle Steamer' like as the original did - having now seen the interior, I think this looks like a stunning restaurant. It just has lost the illusion of it being a boat that's all. But that aside the design is stunning by the looks of this tour. http://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/paddlefish/gallery/04feb2017-paddlefish-tour/29563.htm

Very glad to hear! I was hoping that would be the case. I hope the food is good as well..

Check the menu. It's right up there with the decor :(.
All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Looks like it has about something for everybody. Nice menu. Like the boil menu and the brunch as well as soups and drinks in an outdoor bar setting.

and the décor looks amazing in the news and rumors thread. Great job of remaking the old girl. http://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/padd...sh-restaurant,-now-open-at-disney-springs.htm
