Packable sweater or jacket?

Can anyone recommend a light sweater or jacket that would pack up small to carry in a not-too-big bag in the parks, and not be a wrinkled mess when you take it out to use in air conditioned restaurants?

I'm not sure you can find a light jacket that you can crumble up and not having it come out unwrinkled. Would a sweatshirt work? If not, this jacket is pretty light and does not wrinkle very easy.

Thanks, but a men's jacket won't really work for me.

Has anyone ordered any of these sweaters from Travelsmith? They are pricey, but just might do the trick. I can't decide which I like the best.

I like the tape-yarn one and actually almost purchased that for a cruise, but then I found something similar at TJ Maxx for less $ and it works well. My DD just bought one like it, but in a slicker fabric, at Target on Saturday and it's really cute and small when rolled up. HTH

I bought a danceskin jacket from walmart that looks nice packs nice and dosent look wrinkled. it was in activewear.c

I bought a couple of knit hoodies at KMart a few years back, and love them! The fabric is a fairly heavyweight knit, so it doesn't wrinkle easily (don't get anything too lightweight, or it will wrinkle).

They come in solid neutral colors (gray, navy, black, white) as well as other fun colors like pink, red, etc. They're less than $15 and work really well. They even have matching sweatpant-type pants, if you want to make an "outfit" of it!

My other option that I've used in the past is a long-sleeve denim shirt. Wrinkles a little more, but it's a nice, lightweight layer.

Final tip: I've found that if I roll up the item before putting it in my backpack, it doesn't wrinkle as much. Similar to what you'd do when packing a suitcase!

Have fun on your trip!

Thanks everyone! That gives me some good options to look into. We'll be there in the heat of August, so I know the AC in the restaurants (where we will be enjoying free dining :)) will probably feel freezing.
