Our 3rd Trip to WDW, Sept' 09, *TOC on Pg 1* *TR STARTED - CLICK ON THE LINK*

A conversation about tripods???? I need to get one of those. I have a little 6" or so tripod I use to take food porn pictures... but I need a normal sized one, any suggestions?

HI!! We would have been at the same resort if we would not have switched at the last minute... Take a look at our park days and see if we match up at all...

Envelopes... We found them on the design boards... You just save them to your computer and print them on normal paper, then cut them out and fold, a little tape and done... Very easy and TONS of different designs...

Here is the link to the thread I got them from:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1755694

Tips... The standard for ME is the same as skycaps at the airport from what I understand.. 1 to 2 dollars per bag... Mousekeeping is a hot topic on the boards, some people tip and some do not... I do, and I do 5 dollars per day... I think the standard is 1 dollar per day per person... If I ask for anything above and beyond then I do more...

If you have any other questions, just ask...

I looked at your schedule and I can't believe not one day is matched up:sad2: I will be posting our schedule soon possibly tonight.

He want to take both with us so he has one for his camera and one for the camcorder... Then why the heck did we buy a monopod?? :confused3

I plan on bringing all 3 with me... I need the old tripod to position the camcorder on during shows and parades... During the parades, I will use the monopod as it is a lot easier and faster to swivel around since the characters will be moving... I will need the new tripod for the firework shows since I will be using the camcorder for those too... I will be able to sit back and watch the shows and use my remote control to take the pictures... For firework shows, all I have to do it set the zoom and then I won't need to touch it again... It may be a little overkill, but I want some good pictures and video of the shows and parades... I plan on making a good video of our trip this year... :thumbsup2

I am going to let Terry field this one... We both love the Manfrotto monopod, and he says the new tripod is awesome, but I have not seen it...

What kind of camera do you have? That may make a difference, if you have one with the bigger lenses and flash then you will want one that will be sturdy enough and hold the weight...

Oh... pfff... I have no idea what kind of camera I have. Ones a Canon point and shoot and the other is some Nikon that is very heavy and big that I have NO idea how to use, I can take basic pictures but that's about it. That is my "good" camera but that's all moot when I am camera challenged, lol. Oh, I looked, it's a Coolpix 8800.

I don't really know how to use either of them manually, luckily they both have some pre-set settings or else I'd be in trouble.

Hi everyone!

I finally got a minute to post, been running Terry's mom around all day and getting house work done...

I even paid Terry's nephew to mow the yards so Terry doesn't have to worrying about it when he gets home...

He is having a great time, and is on Freemont St. right now... They have a suite at the Luxor for the night, he was dying to have their buffet for breakfast...

His flight home is tomorrow and he lands in Portland at 11:40 at night... So he won't be home until about 1 in the morning... :guilty:

I miss him like crazy... I am lonely too, the kids are out playing with friends so I keep talking to the dogs... I think they are getting tired of me though, they just look at me and fall back asleep...

We are at Magic Kingdom (9/23) with you, Epcot (9/24) with you and Magic Kingdom on (9/26).

I love the flicker pictures!!!

DH starts 12 hour shifts for good on the 17th. 6p-6a or 6a - 6p... WE can live in misery together!!

:banana::banana::banana: Getting closer...

Lol, if I'm bored I occaisonally talk to my cats, they basically give me a dirty look then go back to sleep. I swear all they do is eat and sleep.

Getting close to 24 hours away, woooooo hoooooo!

Wow. When my dh accuses me of obsessing over Disney planning, I am going to send him a link to your thread!! ;)

I just wanted to ask something about your RideMax(??) schedule. It looks like they have you getting 2 FP's within an hour of each other. I'm assuming you're aware of the wait time between FP's. Another assumption they're making is the return times on those FP's. Again - another assumption that you have flexibility to do those things when the fastpasses allow. We've been in late Sept. several times (and we'll actually be there during your stay). I'm thinking their wait time estimates are rather optimistic. The longest wait they have listed all day is 12 min. for Jungle Cruise. Have you used this service in the past - and is it pretty reliable? I usually make my own based on Unofficial Guide stuff. Also - what's the difference between the bold and regular font? Is it "must do" vs. "would like to do" or something like that?

This is our first time using RideMax... We are going in with no expectations, just trying out something new...
Fastpasses... I remember reading something that they use the fastpass machines that are not hooked into the central system to their advantage for getting fastpasses...
We went last year and our longest wait was 20 minutes and we didn't use a touring plan at all, just went were we wanted when we wanted... So, I think the 12 minute wait on Jungle Cruise is possible, if they know when you should hit the other rides... We also knew what rides get busy and hit those first...
The bold font is "time sensitive" and if you stray from the plan it is just a way to let you know that when your bolded time comes up you should get back on the plan for those rides...
Like I said, we are going in with no expectations and if it works for us great, but if not, no big deal, we will just do what we normally do... I am also a TGM fan so I have read all of his stuff as well...

Have fun on your trip! :yay:

My BIL and SIL live in Portland. My BFF from HS does too! What a small world.

I love going to Portland, but I don't think I could live there... It's huge... I never know where I am! :rotfl: I normally end up in Washington everytime I try and get somewhere...

Maybe we will run into each other! :goodvibes

Terry is on 6a-6p... He did the 6p-6a last year and I said NEVER AGAIN!!! I hated it! I don't like being alone at night at all... I have had 2 traumatic episodes while alone at night and I told him no way... That is actually part of the reason we got Gracie, our first yellow lab... She was suppose to protect me... Umm, I don't see that happening! She is a lazy lump... The younger lab, Shelbie, she would be one who protects me...

Our fat cat, she will be sleeping on the couch or coffee table and if you move her, she will stay asleep... Won't even move... :lmao:

Hi Toni,
I just looked at your schedule update part 4 and compared it to mine and it looks like we might be in DTD on the night of 9/19 (my arrival day) it will just depend on how long it takes me to get o the hotel from the airport because i want to go to the Poly and see the fireworks from the beach and the Electrical Water parade. But we will be in Hollywood Studios the same day for sure 9/20, then when you do MNSSHP on 9/22 we will be in MK that day but leaving around 5pm because we have 6:15 Planet Hollywood Ressies. Also we were able to extend our trip through 9/26 :banana:so we are now leaving on the 26th at 7am:scared1: but at least we get to spend the whole day in parks on the 25th. Anyhewwww we might do the EMH at AK on the 25th so maybe we will run into you guys on one these days! :cheer2:
Ahhhh our trips are soooo close but yet still so far!!!

Tailor's kitty just brought a little bird into the house!!! :scared1: It is alive and I caught it, boy was that a sight!!! It can't fly real well, so I think it is a baby... It's not real hurt, I did notice a spot under the wing on one side where I think Twila's teeth were...

I know nothing about birds... :confused3

I know it can't fly back up into the nest... It's in the neighbors yard in a very tall tree...

I think I have to take care of it until it can... But I don't know what I am doing!!!

Anyone have any knowledge about birds????

Tailor is disciplining her cat as we speak...

I don't know how to help you on baby birds. Our cats like to bring us bigger birds and once a squirrel. Basically, all we do with those is put it in a bathroom, leave water (of the non-toilet bowl kind) and food around and keep checking up on it. If it's too the point that it'll live on it's own then we let it out once it starts flying around.

There was a time that it shortly died after and once we (by that I mean my grandpa) had to take care of it because it was really suffering... :sad1:

I can't be too mad at my cats though, it's their nature to do it.

But after one of them got a squirrel, they don't hang out in our backyard anymore. :( But I don't blame them.
