I don't know if this is old news to some but I was just made aware of the possible dangers of polycarbonate containers that contain Bisphenol-A (BPA) from a story I saw a couple weeks ago on the Today show. I kind of brushed it off but then started doing more research. Here are a couple articles about it: http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Mar14/0,4670,ParentingGlassBottles,00.html

In summary nobody can say conclusively whether it is dangerous or not but I'd rather not use products for my kids that contain BPA.
I called Gerber because my son only uses one kind of sippy cup (pictured below) and it was labeled with a 7 on the bottom. Sure enough it is made from Polycarbonate that contains BPA. They are sending me a shipping label to send them all back and vouchers for new ones. Just thought I'd let others kinow that they are willing to replace them. Hope this helps someone else.
