I was prepared for sticker shock but is actually quite reasonable?

And, when you figure out a per night pricing.Wow all these prices are super expensive.. and I won't even start how expensive for Canadians in particular right now
We paid $3000 for 5b Jan 9th 2015 Fantasy (so similar cruise to Bella29 above)- also 2 adults, 1 child. It was a discounted rate, so I could see paying around $4000 for this cruise but $5000? For a family of 3?
Now that's shocking.
Have you sailed with 4 in an 11b? I find that to be high for the type of cabin.4/23 magic 2a2c (10,13)

Why are dream and Fantasy same price?Fantasy, April 15, 2017

April 16, 2017 on Magic (7 night)
10A 2A $4904.88 ($2452.44pp)
10A 2A,1K(12) $6944.32 ($2039.44 for 3rd passenger....this is what I was quoted...even after I had the DCL agent double check..it seems too high to me)
I'm just confused because the 2 quotes for the 2 April sailings don't make sense when you compare them....how is the 3rd passenger on 4/9 sailing $1200- roughly 50% of what the 1st and 2nd passenger are paying ($2550) and yet on the 4/16 sailing, the 3rd passenger is $2040, roughly 83% of the 1st and 2nd passenger price ($2450)?? Unless I misheard him and he said the total cost of the triple cabin was 5944.32, not 6944.32....but the DCL agent repeated it twice and I repeated it back and then he added up the cabin and said it was just under $12000.
Even the Feb 17 sailing has the 3rd passenger at roughly 50% of the 1st and 2nd passengers.......
I'd LOVE to do that southern sailing- I've done it before on DCL and it is fabulous, but not for $12000. We have sailed DCL 17 times. We are sailing our first NCL in April, 2016, a 7 night cruise. For my family of 5, it's $3000. There is no justification for a cruise to be 4x the amount of another cruiseline.
I'd have to check to see what we paid for our 9B this past Easter week on the Fantasy, but I believe it was around $5,200+.
Now for for a pricing comparison, you could sail on the NCL Escape (new ship) in a HAVEN COURTYARD room (this is a full suite) the same week for $6,830 using my demographics. Also in this price, you get free drinks, free specialty dining, 250 minutes internet, and $50 shore excursion credit. The new NCL ships also have the water parks and other activities on deck.
