We booked the 4/4/15 Fantasy sailing in the 8A as a place holder and "back-up" cruise for Alaska 6/2015 when they are released but I'm very afraid of those prices now - yikes!

We want Alaska too, and like you I'm worried after seeing these prices. Perhaps DCL will show a little mercy since the Wonder won't have gone through dry dock yet. Crossing my fingers. I didn't book anything today.

Last night I worked up a couple of test quote based upon the last months of 2014 and found the same anomaly that you did. It seems for an inside cabin you can save a lot of money going with the Magic, however if you want a verandah it's more expensive being on the Magic. Weird.

That's because the Magic has more inside rooms and the Fantasy has more verandah rooms. The Fantasy also has the inside magic porthole.

Looks like we are booked for the same! Did you by any chance ask about oceanview staterooms? I didn't think to ask and see if they were quoting lower (on occasion I will see the insides with the magical porthole at higher rates than oceanview). TIA!

For reference, the 7A for the 4-night Wonder the Wednesday after Easter 2014 out of Miami came up this past August at $1,597.05. Same itinerary.

I should note, there is a problem in the system that, at least on the shorter cruises, it is not populating the OB Credit from the rebooking (going from a 7-night to 4-night). My CM told me it is a system error and they're working on it. She saw it on our dummy date cruise (7-nt Fantasy in Dec '14) but not when they change to the new cruise. Not sure if that is happening on the 7-night transfers.

I agree. With OBB discount, that seems high. That's pricing out more per night than the Wonder during Easter week. 9A for that cruise with same mix (we have a 15 y.o.) was $1,941.78. That is $485 per night. Multiply by 7, and that comes up to $3,395, almost $400 less.

You can actually get a Cat 7A for less than a 9A on the Wonder during Easter week, you may want to check the same on Magic for your week in February.
