We just got back from WDW and are going back in October for MNSSHP

We are a family of 5 and originally had BLT booked for Fri-Mon but I wanted to add a day and BLT had nothing the day before or after our original booking date. They gave us the option of another resort for one day then move to BLT (meanwhile being put on a wait list for BLT for one day) or just book at another resort for the entire stay, which I opted to do.

So, now we will be at SSR from Thurs. - Mon. in a one bedroom villa - which, according to the website, sleeps 4. Since we are a family of 5 of course I was concerned about this so I called member services and asked about it. I was told there is a king sized bed and a pull out sleeper sofa and therefore 5 people can stay there, Disney just does not provide bedding. For us, that's fine because the kids will be 3, 5 and 7 and will all fit on the sleeper sofa bed.

So, my question is, just how many people ARE allowed in a one bedroom? Is 4 the suggested and 5 the max? I wish I would of thought to ask this while on the phone! Before I call back I figured I'd ask here ;)

I'm beginning to regret the move to SSR - I want to try new places but the convenience of BLT for the MNSSHP was dumb to give up. Wonder if I can call AGAIN and switch back

As you were told, 4 is the occupancy but they will allow 5 and not provide bedding or towels for the 5th. You need to bring or pay extra.

Did AKV have availability? Occupancy there is officially 5 - just like BLT. I can understand your thoughts about not wanting to move with 3 young children but also the pull of BLT for convenience. Unfortunately your reservation you gave up may already have gone to someone on a waitlist but you could always try and get it back.

I just got off the phone with member services - I am so impatient, lol

Yes, I just found out 5 is the max for one bedrooms that say sleeps 4. When I booked, AKV didn't have availability - the only resort that was available for the dates I want was SSR. I realize now it wasn't the nest decision - but staying one place for just one night and then moving seemed so silly to me BUT being so close to MK for MNSSHP outweighs the inconvenience of moving resorts.

So, I am now the one on a waitlist for Oct. 8-11 at BLT  I added a night on to our ressies so we'll be at SSR Wed the 6th - Mon the 11th unless BLT becomes available, then we go there from the 8th - 11th.

Live and learn! Can you tell I am a brand new DVC member? :lmao:

I wonder, the rooms that state sleeps 5, can you add a 6th person? (just like the rooms that sleep 4 but allow for a 5th?)

Occupancy discussion is limited to our Occupancy Thread which can be found in the sticky up top of the board called "Ongoing Discussions". Feel free to continue this over there. Thanks all!
