Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes.

We will be staying at the Poly the night before our back to back Dream cruise :banana::banana: , and using the DCL bus to get to the cruise port.

We will also be using the DCL bus to get back to the resort after the cruise.

Is it ok to leave my vehicle at the Poly while I am on the cruise?

Driving the van to the port is not an option as the other 2 will be flying in and we are all meeting at the Poly. I have a scooter and my friend has an electric wheelchair. There is no way that the scooter, her chair and all of our luggage plus 3 people will fit in my small minivan.

Plus we don't need 2 handicapped people trying to deal with the scooter, the chair, & the luggage while the other person trys to go and park the van and then comes back to find us.

Since we are staying at the Poly the night before, we really feel the DCL bus is the best option all the way around.

Just looking for options.

Thanks!

Most people here will say no, it isn't allowed. However, this is the DIS, not WDW, not the Polynesian Resort. You will need to contact the hotel manager to get the correct answer.

Friends of ours tried doing that a few months ago and were told it wasn't allowed when they checked in. They had already paid for the Disney transfers, so were really in a pinch, because the Contemporary people were adamant that they couldn't leave their car there and said it would likely be towed if they did. They didn't want to come back to a towed car!

We ended up picking up their car and keeping it at our house until they got back. (We live pretty close to Disney World.)

Maybe you could drive your van to the port while the others take the bus? I know it's not as much fun, but it would be a good solution.

As gailg3horses said the official answer is no. But I would call the resort direct and explain your circumstances. They are pretty unique, with two persons needing those type of travel accomodations. Be sure to speak with a manager and ask for the person's name. I would write down what is said, who you spoke with, and the date. When you arrive at the Poly, I would go to the front desk and ask for the manager to confirm the parking arrangements. Then I would make sure that the car pass they give you includes the dates you will be on the cruise. Hope it all works out!

I have heard the official policy is NO and I have also heard of people leaving their vehicles there....so it's one of those YMMV (your mileage may vary) deals. I agree to ask at the Poly when you get there. Explain the situation.

I just had the same question for BCV overnight and the answer from DVC was "are you staying at BCV upon your return?" I said it was possible if the room was available. Then the cast member said she would check on the room and that we would need to pay the "fee for the DCL transportion" I believe it was $129 per person....not sure though.

We opted to take our vans (2) and pay for parking$$$.

You might get a better/special handicapped rate and answer since there are special needs.

Good Luck and have a great cruise!

Definitely call and talk with the manager of the resort you are staying at. We stayed at the same resort before our cruise and after our cruise. We were given a parking pass the covered the entire time when we checked into the resort -- so there is some wiggle room.
