Oh Yeah We’re Going Again, But I’m Not Telling You Yet When! 1/27/15 Prayers Please

So sorry about the freezer but so excited about your trip!

Traveling with my family is my favorite thing. I am excited to be planning our summer vacation. I know your family will enjoy planning your trip!

Debbie

I love seeing you here again too Judy. The pictures you posted are great, the children look so young. The video of the resort looks great, so much more room than staying on property. :goodvibes

Krysten, Courtney, Amy, Jennifer, Lisa, Marilyn, Sandra, Debbie and Belle...THANK YOU for your kind messages and excitement for us and PLEASE forgive me for not answering more fully. I am still not sure starting the PTR was a good idea, I haven't been able to devote the time and energy to it I would like and I certainly haven't had time to post messages on anyone elses reports. Without readers and posts to know who is actually here, I am less inclined to continue. So Thank you! :goodvibes (We still only have the one vehicle for Pete and I which causes a huge strain on my time).

I want to share something fun with you all and while it isn't related to our upcoming trip, it is related to Lisa's MAW trip and continuing to have other families experience that joy.

Today is our only day this week with NO MD appointments (although we will have had 9 at the conclusion of the week). Doing the happy dance, no waiting rooms for us today.

We are actually volunteering at a Fundraiser for Give Kids the World. It is the amazing place we stayed on Lisa’s Make a Wish trip and for the past three years, a nationwide hotel chain has invited us to this event to help out, and speak about our experience. All six of us will attend, Pete will make an appearance on his lunch hour. It is important for us to be there, a visual and testimony of what it actually means to families helps donors dig a bit deeper. The first year I spoke they raised more money in the country than any other hotel in their chain. I never did hear how last years tally ended up. We will interact with the donors and encourage them to leave with their pocket books just a bit lighter. Rachel is actually missing her end of year picnic with her teen group, because she feels it is important to have us all there helping with the games (donors pay BIG money to play and often as we visit with them they decide to buy more tickets...most buy $100 at a time!) and telling our story. We have had donors buy blocks of tickets after talking to us and give them to the children to watch them play!

We also have two additional appts today, but no doctors, yahoo!

Joy...it is the little things!!!

Yay for no appointments today!! Enjoy your waiting room-free day :)

It is great that you are volunteering at the fundraiser again. I love those types of charities that do so much for children and their families. I hope that it is a big success this year!

Glad that you have a day with no doctors appointments, I know that is a nice change. I hope that ya'll help raise lots of money for Make a Wish. I have a fun day today, it is my college graduation finally. It is bittersweet though because I wish my dad was still here to see me graduate. I know he would be so proud of me. I hope you can continue the PTR I miss getting to catch up with how ya'll are doing.

I'm so glad you have another trip planned. Don't feel bad about not posting much or responding, I think most of us here understand.

I saw this PTR on Sunday by chance. I had gone on the PTR board to see if there were any updates on your other one and this one was right below it! I haven't had a chance to to respond until now.
I've been busy with the end of the school year paperwork, activities paperwork, testing, oh and did I mention paperwork! We only have 2 weeks left. I will miss this year's group, I'm not ready to give them up as they are the best class I've had in several years. Last year's class was quite the challenge as I've heard that next year's will be also. I will be teaching summer school until the end of June. I will have a 1/2 grade combo which should be interesting. I will only have 16 kiddos instead of the 27 I've had this year.

Judy- so glad you get to go again. There is a link on the budget board to buy one day tickets at the discounts the sports teams get.

We have had a stressful winter too with the death of my dad and DDs college search and senior year. We were just hanging on for summer when the community pool opens. It is truly our happy place and dd works there. It sustained damage in the storms and won't open this year. I felt like the grinch stole summer. We pulled together and found another pool to take all our members. It is amazing what can happen if you just believe! We can only afford a vacation every few years, that pool membership is all we get!

Hoping life stops throwing you so many curve balls and gives you a few walks!

As I tried to do a little DISing this morning, I realized I really don’t know many folks left on the boards. I also don’t have a lot of time to DIS either. I miss it, it has always been a place for me to relax and feel the support and prayers of many.

Krysten, Marilyn, Debbie, Diane, and Dany: Thank you for letting me know you were here and reading. I know life gets busy, so I really appreciate it!

I have met some incredible folks on the DIS and love seeing my old friends. I also miss those who have moved on.

To those who are here and might read this I wanted to say:

May you be blessed!!!

Now I need to get back in bed and pretend to be asleep so they can serve me breakfast!

Happy Mohr day Judy. I hope you have a super day. My son in law is going to change off my winter tires this morning and then we are going to Megan's for a cookout. Of course I had to make the potato salad but I am happy to help as shne is a mother too. My son Brian called the other night to say he was sorry he forgot to call me on mothers day but there was a card in the Mail. I had a good laugh when I told him it was this Sunday not last week. He is such a smart guy but lacks some common sense, but I love him anyway.

Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day to you Judy. I'm a long time lurker ( I know, bad me)
I glad to see that you're back as I've enjoyed reading your trip reports.
Your children all seem so nice and it's great that they all get along so well. I have one daughter and she got married yesterday and is on her way to Disney because where else would you go .
Liz

Happy Mother's day dear, sweet Judy!!

I understand how hard it is to get on the Dis lately. :sad2: To many things to do and not enough time in the day.

I'm so happy to hear your able to give back time for GKTW! That's awesome so many are willing to give more after talking with your sweet family!!

Please know if I'm not posting here I do think of your family daily and wish for nothing but the best for you all.

Been following you for awhile, finally letting you know. Please keep posting love to here about your great family and gives me hope that we too can over come problems. My husband is going threw some very serious health problems right now with many hospital stays. Everyday I look forward to reading what you post and how you make it threw everyday! God Bless your family!

HI Judy! I don't keep up very well lately, but I wanted you to know that I'm excited you will be going again! What a blessing. I think God sends us these blessings to let us know He sees us where we are, and loves us all the time - not just when everything goes well. I will try to pop in here and there!

It really is good to see you back on the DIS. I know there are many here who have missed you. It is also good to see some of those who haven't posted in the past letting you know they appreciate you. I hope you will come back and share more of your plans and your life. :goodvibes

I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day, Judy! We were going to go down to my in-laws', but we wound up getting ten inches of SNOW on Sunday, so we just went to church and then came home and stayed put! It kept snowing through Monday, but it is nice and sunny today and should get up to the 50's, so hopefully it will mostly melt off. Stick a fork in me - I am SO done with this winter!

Benjamin's last concert of the year was last night. I am so impressed with how far the Beginning Band kids have come this year. None of them could play at all when they started in the fall, and last night we were treated to music from Transformers, Beauty and the Beast, the Incredibles, Frozen, the Beatles, Michael Jackson's "Bad" and some great old-school Jazz/Swing stuff by the Jazz Band. Benjamin really shone on "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and they had so much fun when the whole trumpet section stood up to play that intro! AND, the Band Director chose 8 students from the entire middle school & high school for special awards and Benjamin got the Outstanding Musicianship award - what a great surprise! So proud of my boy. He is definitely finishing the year out better than it started. He's nervous about next year because they are moving to auditions for Jazz Band, but I told him to be sure to practice this summer and I know he'll do fine.

Poofiesdream, hope your hubby starts doing better real soon. Judy is such an encouragement to us all on how to keep a good attitude even in the middle of what looks to be a mess - I know you'll enjoy following her trip report! Liz, congrats to your daughter on her new marriage! Judy, hope you have a wonderful day. Were you able to find a replacement freezer?
