Are the lockers in MK outside or in a room with AC? I contacted the baking team at CR for my DD cake in July but before I decide if I go with the mini or 6 inches I need to know if I can keep the cake in a cool environment while we finish our day at MK or not (we will have the cake at CM's brunch). If I have to stare it in a 90F locker I think I'll go with the mini. Thanks!

...Prices for two-tiered "wedding" style cake start around $200 and go up, depending on the complexity of the design. If your group ends up closer to the 30 mark than 40, I think you could get away with a 10-inch cake. Those serving sizes I put in the first post are Disney's estimates, but in reality, you can get a LOT more slices out of the cakes than they say. For example, a 2-tier cake like you're interested in would be the same size as the cake that comes with Disney's Escape wedding package. At those weddings, which have as many as 20 guests, they only cut into the bottom tier (the 10-inch), and there is always at least half of it leftover, in addition to the untouched "anniversary" tier on top.

Thanks so much! Great news. It'd be 40 if everyone comes. I think we'll be close to that number since we're coming from NY so all the FL family/friends want to see us. However, 5 are babies, 3 are preschoolers and a few other adults don't eat cake, so I'm thinking we may be able to pull off the 10 inch like you're saying. Especially since we'll be eating the all-you-can-eat skillets at WCC. Great news! Thanks!

We will be celebrating my granddaughter's 5th birthday while at Disney July 23rd and I want to get a custom cake for her when we have dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Would like to have some type of strawberry or rasberry filling and not just the plain vanilla or chocolate. Want it to WOW her! Her mom goes a little overboard with birthday cakes every year at home, so at Disney I want it to be a even little more special.

She wants a "Frozen" themed birthday ( the trip is a surprise---she has been many times to WDW )
I have looked and looked thru the cake threads and can find few cakes with "Frozen" characters.
I know I do not want a cake with the pictures on the white chocolate, but would like something 3D.
Does anyone have pictures of any Frozen cakes?

I talked to the Grand Floridian folks and and felt like I was being pushed to get a "standard" vanilla or chocolate cake in a 6 inch size because we have a small group---only 5 of us. I'd order a larger cake, if thats what it takes to get it like I want. Maybe if I could sent a picture, that would help. Can I get a really special cake in 6 inch size? Can I do this for about $100?

Please share any pictures or offer advise.
Thanks so much in advance for any help.

There was a post on page 107 of a great Frozen cake.

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has been able to order a Baymax cake yet?

Also, I read on the first page that you have to be checked in to your resort before they can deliver a cake to your room. So is there no way to have a cake waiting for us when we check in then? Unless we do one of those room celebrations? I'm wanting to surprise my son and husband with a little cake for our trip next year staying at AKL.

BoardWalk Bakery makes the cakes for Pop Century (but you have to place the order with Pop Century) so you should have no problem getting a good-looking mini cake. BWB made us a pretty *and* tasty mini cake for our anniversary one year.

Thanks Luryloo! :)

Spent a rainy weekend in NY reading all 111 pages of this thread. Will be ordering a cake for my Uncle's 60th while we all grab dinner at Chef Mickey's. He is a big Pirates of Caribbean fan so looking as the Captain Jack statue or another POC themed cake. Is it bad if we order a 8" round for a party of 11? With all the desserts at Chef Mikey's we all just need a taste of the cake but want an awesome looking cake.

Secondly I should wait til a month out or so correct?

If anyone has ordered a Baymax cake and has a picture I would love to see! I am planning on ordering our Baymax cake at the end of July for our trip at the end of August. Thanks :)

My post a few pages back is DD's Frozen themed birthday cake from 1900 Park Fare last month. It was $100, and it was a 6 inch cake for 6 people, and we still had 1/2 left over, so I would not go bigger if I were you. They can do great things with just the 6 inch. Our cake had the strawberry filling, with chocolate cake. It was pretty wow, it even lit up, all the servers were talking about it and other guests came to our table just to see it. They could only do Elsa or Anna, not both. We too had a high standard to live up to as my cousin is a custom cake specialist and has in the past done things like built the Mickey Mouse clubhouse for my kids birthdays.

I just contactes Disney about the Her Royal Highness package and they have changed the cakes from what I have seen on the web. They are no longer a princess with the cake being her skirt. Theu are a cake with an edible image of the princess on top. Is there anyway to get the old style and still get the package??

Correct. Until you check in, they don't know for certain what room you'll be in. They won't even deliver your luggage to the room unless you are checked in.

I usually wait til then just so I know they won't lose my order. But if I wanted something really elaborate, or that required them to get permission for a character, I'd start earlier. You will be fine with an 8" for 11 people. Disney WAY underestimates how many their cakes can feed.

You can see photos of the new cakes via a link in the FAQ on the first page of this thread. If you wanted the old style, you'd need to place a custom order, and they might charge you more for it. Best to call the Contemporary at the number in Post #2.

Hi, love this cake, can I ask how much it was and from where? I couldn't find your other post. Would love to get similar for dh when we are there for his birthday it's his favourite ride :). Thanks
Hi! The cake was $50 and I ordered it from the Contemporary since it was going to Artist Point. Chef Brian Kruger at the Contemporary did an amazing job! And it was delicious, too. :)

Please post a picture of your cake once you go! Which bakery are you going though?
The day of the cake is not until August 29th but will do :) I am having it at Chef Mickeys, so the Contemporary bakery. I'm actually quite nervous about it but I'm sure they will do a great job.

DH and I celebrated our anniversary at California Grill on June 20. Since our DFTW four years ago, I have been diagnosed with more than 10 food allergies, including wheat, soy and dairy.

I ordered a mini two tier allergy friendly cake done in the Elegant Scrolls style of our wedding cake. I wanted marble cake, but the person I worked with said they could only do vanilla or chocolate. I have no idea why they couldn't mix vanilla and chocolate to make marble, but whatever. So I went with chocolate with vanilla icing.

Here is a picture of our wedding cake.

Here is a picture of our anniversary cake.

It was beautiful! Tastewise...DH and I both agreed that I make way better. He liked the icing, but I thought it was just ok. Neither of us cared for the cake because it was dry.

The cost was $43. I will not order another allergy cake from Disney.

For our first anniversary, we ordered a specialty cake from Babycakes, which was much better, but they are limited as to designs.

Has anyone had a cake on a wishes cruise? I did forever ago leaving from the Contemporary but this will be from the Polynesian. Would it be through the WDWPLAY line itself or would I call/email the GF bakery? I just want it to turn out well this makes me so nervous. I appreciate the help, I'm getting down to the wire.

If you just want a buttercream cake with writing, call the Polynesian. If you want a fancy, fondant-covered cake, call Private Dining at the Grand Floridian.

Okay that's exactly what I needed last time I did it through the play line that I booked the cruise through. It was a beautiful Stitch cake . I better get on the phone with the GF tomorrow thank you!

A few years ago when I was ordering a GF cake I was told that the bakeries at Disney used the Namaste GF cake mix. I've had a few of their products and I don't think they are the best GF desserts out there. Not sure if that's still what they use or not. The chocolate cake I had was just okay but the frosting was so delicious it made up for it.
