***Official December 2022 Thread***

Just made our ADRs, and was so surprised to get everything except for Space 220! I was so stressed out because this is the first time we are going for Christmas, and I have been preparing myself for the crowds and booked restaurants. I thought we would be lucky to get a couple, but feeling fortunate we got all, including Storybook Dining (60+6). I will say, I was having trouble with the Disney site on my laptop, and actually made all ADR's on my phone through the app. While my laptop was sluggish, it would error out and I would have to sign in again, my phone was fast and super easy!

I did book a dinner res at BOG at 450pm on the night we are going to MVMCP, figuring we would would get in at 4pm. Anyone make a dining res between 4pm and 7pm on the night of a party?

What day did you book Space?

I booked a 6 pm at LTT on the night of a party but I'm not going to the party. I've been really worried about whether they'll let us in. We plan to be in the park all day and check in at 5:45 so I think we're okay. I believe they'll just escort us out when we're done. I sent an email to ask and it took a week for them to get back to me. Their answer was "keep the reservation but try to get one earlier" and then gave me the link to buy party tix. Didn't really answer the question. So, I asked again in chat who said it will be fine as long as we're in the park before six and they'll escort us out after.

Our ADR day was 10/15 and I got everything I wanted except Boma. It showed zero availability for Boma the whole week we are there, so I am thinking those ressies haven't dropped yet.

I got:

BOG dinner
Skipper canteen lunch
Tusker House breakfast
PPO Ohana Breakfast
Coral Reef Candlelight Processional dinner (this restaurant is new to us; I know it gets mixed reviews but my daughter wants to try it)
I had the same problem with Boma this morning, which is when our reservation window opened. It looks like the last day with reservations for Boma is 12/13. Nothing is available after that.

Have you tried searching by time eg 6 pm, 9 pm

I just did a search for 1; it seems like nothing is loaded after 12/13

Yeah, I tried everything, even breakfast. Different times, different days...just to see. But nothing. I guess I'll just keep checking back.

Getting excited...49 days away!
Here's my "final" plans:
12/6 - Arrival Beignets at POFQ then 'Ohana dinner
12/7 - Epcot Holiday Festival Booths & Via Napoli for dinner
12/8 - MK - Liberty Tree Tavern dinner followed by Holiday Sleigh Ride at Fort Wilderness
12/9 - Epcot - Holiday Festival Booths, Behind the Seeds Tour, Garden Grill dinner, Candlelight Processional
12/10 - Disney Springs - Disney Springs for Breakfast/lunch, Christmas Tree scavenger hunt, perhaps AKL for afternoon snack of Bread Service at Sanaa lounge, Church then dinner at Columbia Restaurant in Celebration
12/11 - Monorail Resort hop - Kona Café breakfast, lunch at Steakhouse 71, afternoon snack at Geyser Point, dinner/dessert at the Fountain
12/12 - Skyliner breakfast at Primo Piatto, Disney Springs lunch at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, dinner at Chef Art Smiths
12/13 - Breakfast at Ale & Compass, Skyliner hop to tour resorts (lunch at Pop Century if hungry), check in to POFQ dinner at Sassagoula, possibly No Way Jose sundae at Beaches & Cream
12/14 - Beignets for breakfast, boat tour around Disney Springs resorts, lunch somewhere along the ride. Depart in evening.

Lofty eating goals but we tend to share/split meals when we can.

Adding to the lack of Boma options discussion:

I wanted Boma for arrival night 12/9. My only choices were 5:30 or 9:05. I've checked back several times since, and still have the same two choices. I think 5:30 would be pushing it for us, and 9:05 might be too late since we will have been up since about 4am. If something in between doesn't open, we'll just plan on eating at The Mara.

I wanted breakfast for 12/10, but no available times at all on my ADR day. Kept checking and have since snagged a 7:50am slot. Not ideal, but hoping I can change it to a later time at some point.

I did get a 10:45 breakfast reservation on 12/13 on my ADR day, and an 8:25pm dinner reservation the same day. (we stay at AKL and we like Boma a lot, so we do usually eat there a few times per trip)

I didn't have a need to check beyond the 13th as we leave the 16th and have other plans for dining in HS on the 14th and 15th.

Our stay is somewhat short, but we got all the ADR’s we wanted! We weren’t trying to get anything too terribly competitive. I’m not even sure that we will need them. Since we’re hopping both park days, I kinda want the flexibility to modify our plans at the last minute. I made them just in case. The one I was most concerned about was the Candlelight Processional meal at Biergarten. No problem getting it at 60+2. I wanted the first showing, so that we could hop on over to MK to see the 50th fireworks.

We have booked Skipper Canteen for 4:30pm on the day we are going to the party, without park reservations. (Sangria University and/or a boat rental that day instead). Hoping that we can eat enough protein to prepare us for all the cookies that night! We've not done this before, but it seemed to make sense to our group (all adults) when we were discussing plans.

Park reservations for MK for theme park tickets are full for 12/25 and 12/31. Get your reservations if you haven’t yet!
Wow. I have Mk 12/31 but was thinking of switching to HS (only day HS is open late).

How bad are the crowds taking the monorail after fireworks? I suppose coming back from HS would be just as bad.

Special New Year’s Eve fireworks are normally only at MK and EP. I assume nothing else is as bad as those.

Does anyone know if someone with a park pass has been turned away when parks reach capacity (12/31?).

Is there a separate line for people who are returning to the park vs park hoppers?

This was a huge question during the 50th and a bunch of us asked cast members. If you have a park reservation, you are already included in the count towards park capacity. If you enter a park and leave, you are still counted towards park capacity. So think of it more that they close the park to new guests. You will be allowed to re-enter. Remember, you don’t ‘scan out’. The capacity count does not adjust because you left.

Got our ADRs this morning, and everything we wanted was available. We got Space 220 Lounge at 60+9, Oga's, lightsabers, and 50's Prime Time at 60+6, Sci-Fi and droids at 60+10, and assorted other ones that aren't rare. (I didn't see what other days they were available, those were always our planned dates. You apparently can no longer reserve your 60+ dates from overseas, so I had to use a US SOCKS proxy.)

We got Liberty Tree Tavern for Christmas day, as our other plan was Raglan Road, and we don't want to exit MK and re-enter now that it's reservations are full. With all the queues, that may be all we have time for that day! 🤣

Is there a separate line for reentry? It’s sometimes hard to tell if there is a huge crowd waiting to enter.
